Please Advise, I took my car to a garage (wont mention name for now) but I did a full service and MOT. Got my car returned with a failed MOT. Reasons, headlight adjustment, droplink broken and emmisions too high. Got quoted £185 for fixing all this, which included add soemthign called 44k engine cleaner. So decided to have a 2nd opnion.
Took it to another garage and showed me that the engine was covered with new oil and still dripping from the bottom. Also said that the droplink looks to be tampered and broken off rather than wear and tear and headlight bulb was put in upside down and reason for adjustement.... Read more

While waiting at temporary lights, handbrake on, on an incline a 'groaning' came from the rear of the car. I put my foot down on brake pedal and it stopped.
Without obvious witty comments any ideas as to cause ? it seems handbrake related. Read more

What I want to know is, What is the differences between the engines codes VJX, VJY and VJZ.
I'm asking because I'm a bit confused why some filter manufacturers list a different oil filter for them although, They are essentially the same engine.... Read more
That pretty much sums up what I suspected to be the difference.
I've always used Purflux filters (supplied by Citroen) as they are original equipment....
My 2.2 D4-D 2005 Toyota Avensis sometimes, when starionary at a red light (apparently this mostly happens at red lights), revs the engine up and down, basically sometimes the needle goes from 900 rpm to 1100 rpm up and down continously, and if I rev it up to 2000 a couple of times everything comes back to normal. I have a mk2 clio 03 plate. I recently changed the thermostat as mine imploded. Now I have no heat coming out inside. I drained/refilled/bled the system but to no avail. Now looking to the heater matrix, the lower pipe (inlet) gets red hot but the upper (return) is cold.
Any advice and help would be great
