engine makes a strange noise on start up, ok when warm..
thats the noise, I have noticed the noise cannot be heard when the camera is near the engine as the engine is too loud.
let me explain....
Hi, I was wondering if anyone could tell me if I am legally required to disclose an engine rebuild that was carried out under warranty if selling my car to a garage? The car has since had a couple of services and has had no problems since, it's not been in an accident and is only 2years old.

In theory, of course, if the engine has been professionally rebuilt, warranted and proved to be OK, there should be no reason not to reveal that fact. And on that basis any seller ready to reveal it should be trusted, for the very reason that if the job wasn't OK, he wouldn't be revealing it, would he?
Unfortunately, it doesn't always work like that, so most sellers keep schtumm.
Good , reliable nice to drive cars.Had mine ( 13 plate ). from new ,in fact built to my order as I wanted the 1.6Vti petrol engine and the optional panoramic roof. As the 308 is unfairly underrated , residuals are not very good making them a good second hand buy.My local dealer who sold the car has also provided very good service. The 308 is well built giving away little if anything to the so called premium badge German cars.

A Honda FR-V petrol, with the excellent 1.8 iVTEC engine, should be just within budget. You HAVE to try one of those.

I changed the oil filter and engine oil a month ago. Engine was topped up to 3/4 of from max mark. It is still approx 3/4 still. I hear this clicking/tapping noise when I let go off the accelerator pedal each time. Any ideas on what this could be? Is it because oil is not up to max mark?
Everything looks ok, coolant up to max mark, no signs of oil leak or leak at cyclinder head, etc. Read more
Your engine shouldnt be that noisy you cant tell where its coming from they are not that noisy,did you try what I posted before?,if not ask someone else to do it its easy enough
Otherwise take to garage and get them to listen they will tell you straight away and it still could be tappets which may need replacing,or may be an oil pressure problem that you may need to get looked at,...
