Looks like I have been caught by the fact BMW 19" low profile rims are not fit for purpose as at 15,000 miles the dealer now tells me they will not pass a MOT. Cannot believe how many posts there are on the net about BMW rims. So rather than throw good money after bad I am thinking of down sizeing and/or moving off run-flats. So what size and whoose rims and tyres to fit? Read more
It has to be said that any car with wide and low profile tyres is at risk of cracking and I have heard of worse cases, like all the tyres go flat due to worping.
Take one looks at how the rim is supported i.e. only at one end and it can be seen that the wide a rim is, the more strain it takes on bumpy roads.
My mono wiper works fine but will not return fully to the home position , whist in operation it does go fully down but never returns fully when it ends, I checked the grease in the arm HUB and it seems fine though i havent removed the assembly/motor etc . When it initially happened it nearly stopped , i sprayed the arm joints with lubrication and as i say it works fine in operation, Any advice /info would be greatly appreciated, thanks, Brian. Hi everyone,
Has anyone else had a problem with a faulty coolant system on their Fox..AND why is it no longer in production.. Read more
The seal probably perished due to the car not being used regularly or on long enough journeys to get up to temperature judging by the mileage ?
All engines need to get up to operating temperatures fully, and for a reasonably lengthy time otherwise they can suffer all kinds of problems as they never get to run at their optimal....

The former owners of ECP (who sold out to the Americans in 2011 for £280Million) have set up a new company and are leasing many of the former Partco sites from the landlords who now have empty units.
I have had my timing belt changed at 38,000 with water pump 5 years ago and only done a total of 78,000 now but the car is 10 years old, do I need to do it again? Read more
Thanks
I bought a VW Golf from Benfield dealership 20 months ago. It had full service history and I got 12 months warranty. Pretty much from day 1 the car was never out of the garage having various problems fixed. In hindsight I wish I had rejected the car a long time ago. Off the top of my head its been in the garage around 12 times and luckily most things were covered by the warranty. The turbo was repaired TWICE to name but a few things.
Last week the camrod went through the engine block, causing a hole. Cut a long story short, the car needs a new engine. I'm waiting on a price for this but have been told it will be thousands!!!!... Read more
There is a good thread here:

Sorry, I was looking at the C1 (which I have). What I said applies to the C1. It looks like the Aygo could be a (small) improvement over the older model.
Sounds very similar to the letters one gets from estate agents who claim to have a buyer for your house, of course you would have to change agents to get that buyer and then as with the car scam the buyer doesn't buy or changes his mind that's presuming he was not an agent stooge in the first place. "Never enter your bank account details to anyone, either online or via email."
As far as I'm aware, giving just your Bank Sort Code and Account Number does not enable someone to access your account.
If you are buying and using a cheque, the seller will have those details in any case as they are printed on the cheque.
If you are selling and the buyer is using a cheque he doesn't need your bank details, however beware of forged cheques. If using a bank transfer he will need just the same details only.
However beware of forged cheques, it may appear as a credit on your account as soon as it is deposited, but if it's a dud your bank may not find out until up to two weeks later and the credit will be removed. Bank to bank transfers should be safer but it's always worth checking with your bank that they have received the money. Read more
Good advice thanks. Why would you lose a £100 payment "at best" though if the fee is £20?

Thank you
