I have just brought a 2004 Citroen Dispatch and there are a couple of issues with the locks.
1. An easy one. Is it possible/practical to buy and programme a new remote central locking key? Not a major issue but have only got non remote keys.
2. Should the two sliding doors lock on the central locking from the drivers door. If so does anyone know a fix as neither of mine do.
Any help would be appreciated. Read more
lost all its fluid - garage says £700 to replace system - is this fair and reasonable ? Read more
If it is the condenser leaking, then a good indy a/c specialist should be able to do the job for around half of what you have been quoted.Hopefully they would have tested the system with nitrogen, not co2.
Hi all I have a 2006 1.7cdti Meriva, it's very sluggish when I pull away or am going up a hill. The turbo cuts in at 2.5 rpm. Sometimes foot is flat on the floor and it will slowly increase in speed. Could this be the clutch? I tow a 750kg trailer but haven't done since last year as I'm not sure it would cope. Any help would be appreciated, many thanks Read more
Don't really want to get rid, and can't afford another cr at the moment.
I removed the lead from the maf sensor and drove the car around the block, it seemed to run better so I'm going to give it a better clean this weekend, would it be worth spraying the actual plug (and letting it dry) or would you not do this? I know you can test the sensor with a voltage meter, which is the best way to do this and what does it need to be set on?...
Had this problem for months. Car drives well, smooth, pulls okish in lower gears, but in 5th 6th it's very flat, up at 50mph, put foot flat on the floor and accelerates poorly up to 70 sometimes seems as if 70 is the max and won't go any more, it's been diagnosed twice by a Peugeot specialist and another garage , both stumped by it, no faults showed apart from Maf sensor which was replaced ,no turbo faults came up,no faults on dash , there's no whistling, no smoke, all very frustrating drives well, just flat . It's only taken 2 years and a new turbo , but I have finally solved the problem , after having the new turbo fitted and it not fixing things , I went looking and found a broken connector on a vac line, it was round the back of the big turbo pipe so not easy to see I fixed it together with some tubing I found ....it didn't work, so thought that was not the problem, spent another month with the endless head scratching, then decided to go back to the vac pipe and do a better job with some better tubing, .....got in the car and wow.... Sudden power....amazing ....goes like a rocket after years of no power, couldn't believe two garages never spotted the broken vac pipe.!!
Hi,
I have an 08 Audi A6 3.0 TDI quattro with 75k Miles. Last Novemeber I got an engine managment warning light on the vehicle and £750 later (£550 for the part and £200 for the fitting) a new LHS inlet manifold. I wasn't too thrilled with that, but reluctantly accepted that mechanical things can fail and coughed up for the repair. However, about a month ago I got another warning light and this time it is the RHS manifold that needs to be replaced.... Read more
Great cars - BUT - just got rid of 2007 model (70k) after the same problem & £1,500 later. Simply don't trust the possibility of an endless series of bills. They only sell the full manifold despite the fact that a butterfly would cost a few pence
Discussed the matter with the main dealer and asked about a recall - basically Audi were aware of the issue just not interested in fixing historic problems, especially afer a number of years...
When i try to switch on the main headlights the parking lights come on. When i switch on the main beam it activates in the parking light. The main lights do not come on at all. The front fog lights work OK. Read more
All sorted. It was one blown headlight that clearly impacted both headlights. Changed both and I'm back in the game!
It didnt help that the car was supplied with a Panda handbook so what the Panda handbook referred to as parking lights are the 'All Day' lights on my version of the 500 and the main beam is situated not with the headlight but with the All Day light!! There also appears to be loads of slightly different versions of the 500 because the YouTube videos and online handbooks i found seem to all have slightly different versions of the headlight fittings to mine! ...
Buying a fiesta for my mother she has driven the 1.0 ecoboost 100bhp & the 1.5 tdci and likes them both. There is only about £250 difference in price new. Any owners of either models on here? She does about 6k miles a year so doesnt need a diesel but if the price difference is minimal then worth considering. Do the ecoboosts get close to the mpg stated by Ford?

For that sort of low miles and short trips, stick to the petrol. No DMF or DPF to worry about, and on short trips the petrol will warm up quicker (nice in the winter).
Under these driving conditions you'll never get anywhere near the manufacturers figures, no matter what car you buy....
Firstly I am new here and I am a female who knows very little about cars so please be gentle.
I have a Toyota Celica VVTI 190 02 plate, my ex husband and I have owned it for the last 7 years and it is a beautiful car, which I love.
The clutch is slipping so looking at having to have it replaced. Quotes are around the £480.00 mark but I'm wondering if this is going to be the start of a money pit?
I'm not in a financial position to buy another car so I would be going car-less but I'm just not sure what to do.
How likely is the rest of the car to need fixing/replacing in the near future just due to wear and tear. It has done 110k miles.
Any advice/opinions welcome please. Read more
Thank you Bazza, your advice is much appreciated.
Yes the car has a full service history. It has been well looked after by both myself and the first owner.
when driving especially below 3000 revs when holding a speed a rattle appears like a football claxton type thing as if something is catching something as it spins but accelerate and the noise stops, decrease power and the noise stops until you hold a constant speed again, very annoying, I can't mimic this when not moving and revving engine. Need some suggestions please unless it is obvious, turbo, clutch, gearbox need help please. Read more
i had the same problem after slight clutch judder pulling away, when strip the clutch from fly wheel , they found the clutch bearing had been knoked out of the fly wheel .
we have noticed that the clearance between the shaft and bearing is .42mm i am now trying to make sure this is correct , this is a lot of clearance....
Hi I have a 2008 peugeot 308 1.6 hdi it was involed in a light crash with set the seat belts off , I have new ones but need to know if I can just fit them or will any other parts need changing aswell many thanks Read more
The ECU can be removed and have the crash data reset. There are companies that advertise their services on Ebay, usual cost is £25 - £30.
2. yes. but it sounds like a previous owner has [sensibly] disconnected the cdl actuators in the sliding doors.
The locks on dispatches are woeful quality. they have plastic housings and the lock barrel can easily be prized out of the handle with a 4mm screwdriver. I removed the locks in the sliding doors of my dispatch and filled the holes so thy could only be unlocked manually from the inside....
