hi guys having trouble with the van, runs very well locally but when i go for along trip and run her a bit harder she will break down, usually after 2 hours of motorway running, leave her for an hour she will run again for 30 or so miles then stop again,, Read more
Looks like you may have a wiring fault in the engine harness. Not an uncommon fault on these.Has the van had a recent clutch fitted? This can often lead to wiring issues as the harness runs over the top of the gearbox.

If anyone has suffered the horrendous experince of having a car stolen without the keys and the insurance company refuse to pay out as they claim it cannot be stolen without the keys then you should view this theft of a BMW.
Pulld in to a Esso petrol station yesterday to fill up and noticed on the pump marked supreme 97 it said vapour recovery.
It didn't have this on the 95 ron pump or either of the standard or supreme diesel pump. What does it mean by vapour recovery? Read more
Thought it was to recover from an attack of the 'vapours' at the price of fuel!!!
Loved the hamburger comments. Lol....

I have a 15 year old Toyota corrola 1.4 vvti has done 90k I have lost a broken spark plug and possibly a broken drill bit under the cam followers as well on the 1st cylinder and possibly has caused damage and is making essesive noise is this possibly an engine rebuild? Or replacement engine to be fitted, I'm not in the position to buy another car, but under the £1000 mark surley some thing can be done and where the best places to go to get this sort of work carried out and recommended in kent essex london area, please! I know some people would say get another car, but this one has been so realiable for 4 years and I dont want to end up with a new problems getting a cheap banger! Any possitive options and ideas welcome!
Couldn't you just spit when something like that happens, as you say the broken plug can't have done anything serious or it would have shown up before now.
Its possible the camshaft will come off without the head, thats where i would be looking first....
In 2009 we bought a secondhand (one previous owner) Volkswagen Touran with a 2.0 Tdi SE specification. It was four years old and had covered 38,000 miles and had a full service history. It was purchased from an independant dealer, who eventually sold it to us for 8100 pounds. Now in 2014 I am looking at purchasing the exact same spcification (and age and mileage) of vehicle again. This time around I am being asked to find something closer to 14000 pounds. Whilst I am aware that prices in general have risen over the past five years and I am aware that the model has undergone two facelifts since we bought our 2005 version, I am struggling to see why such a model has gone up in price so dramatically. As far as I can see the specification does include a few extra features like hill-hold and electronic powered steering and perhaps park-assist, but even so a 6000 price hike is pretty hefty.
Anyone got any thoughts or ideas on what else might have helped to contribute to such a large price increase Read more
I wouldn't got to toyota based on your disatisfaction with VW as you might just find their customer service equally poor. Of course on here the toyota love fest will try to convince you otherwise.
Personally I'd go for Ford or even Kia.

sofa man- I don't think anyone can help your situation as it is. You could have checked the tyres and seatbelts prior to the MOT and corrected those faults yourself. You have been unfortunate, but you will have to pay for the work carried out. On the bright side you will have a car that is running again and an MOT certificate. This is probably a good time to dispose of the vehicle, either a straight sale or a trade in. If you do this and aquire another vehicle please look after it and also do a pre-MOT check to sort out obvious faults. This should mitigate potential problems in future tests. Sorry for your trouble. Good luck.

Will do, so far I'm very impressed, it's a very different beast to my Lexus RX400h which I loved, time will tell but at this moment I'm loving it!
I will post again once I've had the wheels done!...
