I've just bought a Mercedes CLK which has replaced a Rover 75, there was great technical support available through the Rover 75/MG ZT club and it was good socially too. Can anybody recommend a MB car club?

There's quite a few, although some may have less of a UK bias than you might like. Try these:

Peugeot 308 S HDi 2009 - Oil Pressure light has come on (over Bank Holiday, joy) only two months after a P1 dealership service. Oil info light on start up says Oil OK. I've looked at the dipstick and it looks OK (I understand from other threads in the this forum, black oil is usual). My question is, should I be asking some tough questions back to the dealership as to why this has happened? And what? Surely if there was an issue with the oil circulation in the engine, this should be picked up at all levels of servicing? I've had my car serviced at this dealership since new, so would be dreadfully disappointed if they missed something. Read more

You're not the first person to report this problem soon after an oil change. Take a look on peugeotforums.com and you'll see similar threads.

CRV Newbie

Hello I was wondering if anyone else has a similar issue I have a Honda CRV 2.0 Petrol Automatic, 2008 model and every time I use the indicator lever to turn I hear the usual indicator noise being activated, but also I hear a clicking noise from the lever trying to disengage itself. This noise continues till I finish the turn (either left or right ) and indicator lever disengages itself. I have asked around and some say they have the same sound too. This sound was not here when I brought the car it has just started recently. Any body else facing the same problem and if so is there any solution to this. thanks in advance. P Read more

I can only think it is part of the spring loaded cancel mechanism that is making a noise. Most cars make a similar noise.Perhaps a squirt of wd or similar may reduce the noise.

Ok, here's another one of those questions that folk put on here in the 'what car should I get' guise. I am not going to give a list of premium brand cars that I can neither quite afford or have the potential to be an expensive mistake. I am no badge snob (I've had 2 Mazdas and a Ford and been happy with all), I just enjoy driving.

I am changing jobs in September and will need to carry kit (eg a van der Graaff in a box, crates of trundle wheels, balls, rulers, posters....the list is varied and long!) but no passengers really. The MX5 isn't up to the job of carrying much, and I also haven't decided if I am willing to do a long commute or move closer to the job yet, so a diesel may be on the list. My MX5 also isn't suitable for this size of commute; 25 miles one way was ok but this is 40-odd.... Read more

do you think its worth upgrading the standard peugeot immobiliser to say a transponder type one? just for extra security, or would they both do the same job? Read more

Hidden switch behind the dash to cut the electrics to the fuel injection system could be just as effective and cheap to fix.

Hi Tom, Thanks for the reply.

I have started dismantling the top end so will take a look once the head i off and let you know my findings! Sorry if it sounds a silly question but I assume if the head is porous it's scrap? Would this be evident from a pressure test?...
