Sorry, I know that this subject has been done to death but we're very suddenly in the market for a replacement car. Thinking approx. 4K with priorities being low insurance and comfort. 5 doors and manual are also essential. Looking at Yaris, i10 (i20 is just within range too), Fabia, Polo, etc. 107 and its counterparts are really too small and Jazz, Note, etc are surprising high insurance. Has anyone got any recommendations based on personal experience please? Avant, I think your daughter runs an i10?
Thanks in advance. I promise to read all contributions and inform you of the decision. Read more

Hi my 04 plate Ford Mondeo Ghia automatic is having having rev problems. It starts ok and revs up, but is very slow in allowing the revs to decrease. It would seem the throttle cable is sticking, but I've checked this by hand - working the linkage and the it does go back to the stops, but the revs take their time coming down to tick over.
I've saturated the whole cable, linkage with WD40, but no avail. Any ideas chums as to what is causing this?... Read more

The BBC programme 'Rip Off Britain' plans to run a feature on Gumtree, specifically the listing of non-existent vehicles by organised criminal gangs.

I'd buy off eBay but never sell a vehicle on there again. The final value listing fees etc they sting you with make it uneconomical.
Its been almost a year since I last sold a car on Ebay, but using the fixed price classified section it was just £14.95 with no other listing fees, final value fees or paypal costs. Loads cheaper than Autotrader.
Saw a post on here re Citroen 2CVs, someone was looking for one. would it make money if the car was re introduced? what about an original Beetle? Which yester year car would tempt you to buy a new one? Read more
The Imp was in every way a far better car than the Mini - okay - the Mini looked better. But refinement, handling, performance, economy, interior space, steering, gearbox - the Imp was miles ahead. I still have an Imp and I love driving it.
