I was just looking at the possibility of purchsing a new Subura and noticed that they specifically detail what is contained within the 5 year warranty which caused me come concern because surley if it was a full warranty then it would ocver everything.
If it is limited to just the powertrain then is this the same as Hyundai and Kia and Toyota. Read more
It must be very difficult dealing with spammers who repeatedly register under different dodgy sounding names, and then bombard the site with offers for unsaleable scrap tat they are trying to offload.

Hi, Looking for some help with where I stand with a second hand car purchase. I bought a Focus from a main dealer, broke down within the fisrt few miles (engine malfunction warning, became undriveable). Took the car back, they said the ECU needed recalibrating, and that there was an open circuit on an injector, and that if they hadn't fixed it it might need a new injector. It hasn't happended again, but I get a VERY unnverving juddering every now and again. I've taken it back and they say nothing is wrong - but of course there must be. I'm now in a position where they won't so anything unless there is a fault code. I've taken it to another garage for a second opinion (which is the same as the first). I've searched the forums for various possible technical causes (injectors, air filter, turbo leak), but I really don;t know what my next move should be. Do I just have to drive it and hope the right fault code is genrated within the remaining warranty period? I've already written a letter of comaplaint. Any advice greatefully received. Thanks. So far seems to be just as I'm pulling onto a motorway, once when I'd just filled it to the brim, the other when I was below 1/4.
looking to buy large family estate but i seem to be getting dizzy going round in circles, lookin for some advice with reasoning as to which cars to shortlist, cabin space in the rear is a must, as is MPG and RTL, i do alot of A class road driving and some motorway, im in NE scotland, budget is £8000

My zafira has started making a groaning whining noise most apparent around 30 to 40 mph, when taking foot off of gas it gets louder but dip the clutch it stops, ive checked gearbox oil level and did find some iron filings on the level plug, Im just not sure if its the gearbox going or clutch bearing, has anyone else had this problem. For the first problem, try swapping the front wheels to see if the problem switches to the other side.. or if the tyres are directional, swap front to back. Or.. first, just jack up the driver's side front and turn the wheel by hand and see if it runs true. I've had a badly-made wheel on a Mini many years ago where the wheel centre hadn't been welded true to the rim. It was a hydrolastic mini, so that side of the car would ride up and down due to the coupled suspension and it wasn't immediately apparent that one wheel was at fault.
Have the brakes been bled? You can take some slack out of the back brakes by adjusting the handbrake lever travel, or you could on the 2006 Fiesta. Wonder if Ford have changed anything since then?

I purchased a citreon xantia 2.0 Hdi and all was running well for a few days then it died on me at a petrol forecourt. Car tried to start so didn't think issues with starter motor, glow plugs etc. Will kick in OK using Easystart but cannot get diesel to engine. This led me to believe that the immobiliser kicked in (for some reason) and so this cuts off power to the fuel pump and so no fuel getting to the engine.... Read more
If you cannot hear the lift pump prime before startup it's probably on the blink. I had one go intermittent at around 100k before packing up altogether stranding car outside my Mother in Law's. IIRC it's accessed from under the rear seats and while a faff it's not too difficult to replace except that there were different versions with different diameters during car's production life and trimming of metal can be required.
The other Xantia issue that can give symptoms of a poor battery is corrosion in the battery/starter/alternator wiring harness. Cannot recall cause but effect is that useful conductive cross section of the harness is reduced with effect (a) failure to start and (b) overheating of cable. Latter can be dramatic enough to melt the battery terminal. In earlier stages thermal damage to harness insulation provides a clue. ...

One of those cars I would like one day. I had a good test drive in an Outback diesel a few years ago, but the interior wasn't the best and it put me off. The new one is much better, but they are expensive and I no longer need a diesel.
The new Impreza hatch has caught my eye and I'll be having a drive in the 1.6 petrol.
