Have been using the Comparison sites to get insurance quotes for a 2009 Ford focus - I'm amazed that as the car has rear parking sensors that around 80% of the insurance companies that quoted when I didn't include the sensors refused to quote when I included them - they were an extra on my model years but standard on the new model year (6 months later)
Insurance Companies really need to sort themselves out as far as I'm concerned - new whale tail wings or a turbo fitted is a mod IMHO but this is silly Read more

A two-wheel drive car on winter tyres is better than a four-wheel-drive car on summer tyres...
The above snippet from the article sums it up. How you find this irrelevant and valueless is amazing. It is more impressive that a rear wheel drive car is used as will perform worse than a front wheel drive car. The fact they have used Porsche is explained perfectly well in that they have a test centre....
Sorry, I originally posted this in the wrong section. I own a 2003 Corolla Verso. Recent rain highlighted an issue with it. I noticed both the front and rear footwells on the passenger side were wet ( the car was parked passenger side to the kerb and the road has a minimal camber). The door seals are ok and there is no staining on the roof lining. The car has two sunrooves and I'm thinking that the sunroof drains are blocked? A friend told me the car will have two seperate leaks as water will not travel from the front to rear footwell and vice versa due to the designs of car floor pans. Id appreciate a bit of advice to arm me before I go to a garage. Many thanks Read more
Hi I now have the same problem in my 2002 corolla verso. Did you manage to find out what it was and sort it?
(I have eliminated air con drain, as it is on the passenger side but cannot spot any obvious leak via seals etc)

I have read the fine print on the Lifetime Warranty, but am still not certainly sure if I should actually need to go to the "Vauxhall Approved Service" dealer to have my car serviced annually in order not to invalidate the Warranty? Can I go to an independent service centre as they are much cheaper. I have a quote from Evan Halshaw on the 3-year Service Plan which cost £475; Motorbodies charge £500++ for similar service plan.
Evan Halshaw service package includes:... Read more
Do you know where I could get hold of the Vauxhall Requirements?
Hi the back doors on my passat are not locking, the child lock works tho. It is not coming up on the diagnostics as a fault. I have had both locks replaced and still not working! can any one suggest anything? Do you know if they are on a different mechism than the front doors and boot? Read more
I find it very odd that you are not getting any errors on the convenience system memory. Which fault code reader are you using?
Having had to drive today in terrible snow many cars were running without lights and were difficult to see but a yellow car stood out like a sore thumb I dislike yellow as a car colour but it certainly has its places. My car is gunmetal grey metalic lovely colour in my opinion but very difficult to see.
On a different note for those in the UK with Astra analogue satellite Kabel will show how easy it is to steal a VW by cloning the key codes. Read more

That does look nice. Indeed, as good as the Rapid looks a tad boring. I do think there has been too much cheapskating with the Rapid. Even Seat told them there should be 4 switches on the driver's door to operate all electric windows. Skoda steadfastly ignored Seat. And, apparently the rear seat cushion doesn't lift, so the back rest just flops forward to make a not much of a practical loadspace.... Read more
