Hi, I have a 2002 ('52 plate) Saab 9-3 Cabrio with just over 60K miles.
When I switch off the car there is a humming noise coming from the sensor that sits between the switches for the heated seats.... Read more
Hi everyone, just joined. I've got an r reg punto 1.2 60. It's not got power steering but has always been fine to drive. The other day I was out and went to turn right and suddenly the steering went very heavy. Called for assistance and the guy couldn't find anything wrong with the steering. He jacked it up and said my track rod ends had a bit of play in them. He said these are connected to the steering and this could be my problem. Like everyone at this time of year cash Iain short supply! My question is: is my car safe to carry on using? I'm worried in case the steering suddenly just 'goes!' Read more

Piece of useless info speed humps are called "Lambada" in Brasil I think they named a dance after them but I do not remember a motor bike being used.
Hello all,
I found an email in the forum describing the exact problem that I'm experiencing, but unfortunately there isn't a final resolution or update (if there was one!).... Read more
I would not dispose of the DPF as you will need it fitted for the test after Feb.

Two lorry drivers were caught watching DVDs while on major roads in Leicestershire in a police operation.
Officers used a heavy goods vehicle of their own to spy on drivers on the M1 and A1.
The three-day operation ran from Tuesday to Thursday and caught 90 drivers for a variety of offences.
Leicestershire Police said it was to cut down on drink-driving, not wearing a seatbelt, using a phone and speeding, known as the fatal four.
The force said the lorry drivers were watching foreign language films as they were not from the UK.
PC Russ Davies said police often had reports of lorry drivers watching DVDs on laptops, but it was usually difficult to prove.
"Invariably when drivers do it they start veering off onto the hard shoulder," he said
"Because of the height they are at it's difficult to prove they are watching a film, as some of them have sat-navs on their computers as well.
"So unless we can get up and see what they are doing we can't prosecute them."
Of the 90 drivers caught during the operation, 52 were not wearing a seatbelt and were given £60 fines.
Another 21 were using a mobile phone, six were said to be not in proper control of their vehicles and two were watching DVDs. All were given a £60 fine with three points on their licence.
A further nine were caught driving longer than they should and were given a mixture of warnings and fines.
Dave Galloway was one lorry driver caught not wearing a seatbelt.
He said: "I didn't realise I was supposed to be wearing a seatbelt in a truck. I always wear one in the car.
"But they caught me bang to rights, you've got no choice really."
PC Davies added: "There's just that small minority who think, perhaps by their height, they are going to be immune from prosecution.
"What we are trying to achieve is to let them know we are out looking for these offences."

Not as simple as good ones on bad ones off, as with everything else its down to cost, cheapest is best is the new mantra.
Lorry driving used to be hard physical work and required toughness strength skill and an aptitude, it attracted a certain breed of man or woman that could do and in general was rewarded accordingly, thats no longer the case.
Shocked at the price quoted by dealers for supply of spacesaver wheel/tyre,. Even those on eBay are very pricey.
Bought a Rover 25/45 200/400 spare from a vehicle dismantler and it is imminently suitable for the job, does not foul the running gear and handles fine. Cost ……..£20.00 including carraige.... Read more
Careful!
My information shows the Rover wheel as having a 35-38mm offset, whereas your Jazz has 45mm. That means the rim and inside wall of the tyre could be a little closer to the centre line of the car. Also the centre line of the wheel/tyre will be a little offset from design. That could affect your steering under braking if you fit your spare to the front with an original wheel on the other side....
Hi, I would be grateful for any advice on this. My fiesta had a "bolt" replaced a couple of weeks ago under warranty - its a 2010 fiesta that has done approx 45000 miles. It was done as part of a technical service bulletin - I took it in as the steering was making a clunky noise when parking etc. That's now gone - all they old me was it was a "bolt" that had been replaced and it was now secure.
I had new tyres fitted approx 6 weeks before this and the tracking done and the car was holding the road very well. since the repair the steering has gone very light and it feels like I am driving on wet, even like I am driving on ice at times, when the road is actually absolutely fine and sometimes is actually dry. I have checked tyre pressures etc and all is fine. It seems ok with a small amount of turning to the wheel, it grips fine - if you imagine the steering wheel usually at twelve o clock position. Once I turn it much beyond about 2 o'clock especially going round a roundabout if I try to go at anything over 20 mph it just seems to go really light and feels like it might skid. I know it won't but that's the sensation.... Read more

I suspect there is a problem with the wiring in the door shut.possibly broken or shorted cables .Access to the wiring is a bit awkward as there is limited space also all the wires are black in colour.Removal of the door (not difficult)makes the job easier to repair or replace the wiring harness.hth
Thanks, turns out the ford uses a plug and socket to connect the door electrics - this was simply loose, so problem solved!...

Spot on doc. I silenced one with a few hefty blows (of air, not with a hammer!) and a few liberal squirts of WD40. Saves a dismantling job.
