Hello my partner was driving my sons car which he is insured to do so when we was driving into where we lived a car was coming up the middle of the road which isnt very wide my partner stopped as near to the kerb as possible and had to even go onto the pavement a inch , the other car stopped as well but instead of steering his car over and away or even reversing he moved up a bit as if to say pass me which my partner was doing and cleared the back of his car and as the other driver inched forward the back of our car caught the back of his car and scratched the wheel so he says but we didnt think there was much of a mark there and i called the police as he was irate and he has put a claim in for a spray job of £300 the garage he took it too has not filled out the forms correctly so its been delayedand also he says he sold the car right after so had no pictures of it , i did and sent them to the insurers the latest is hes saying a passenger in his car was injured which we know this is a blatent lie and its the first we have heard of it six months on and now i think its going to go to court , also my son cannot insure his car because of this they now want £3600 for insurance where before he was paying £1200 , is there any advice i can get from here? Apart from legal cover tied in with your car insurance you may have it as part of your house/contents insurance/

We took delivery 6 mths ago in Australia of a new wagon. We have been very pleased but have noticed the some lag when taking off at low revs as mentioned by others.
However, on 3 occasions soon after take from a cold start the engine has got stuck in a lower gear with revs around 3000. Switching off and starting again fixes it but is hardly acceptable. It is almost like a rebooting of a computer system. I spoke to VW and they suggested bringing it in. I am planning to do so if the problem persists or will wait for the first service in 6mths. Has anyone experienced this problem? Thanks, gerard. Read more
Moved to Technical.
Offering to repair the damage is an admission of guilt, whether it is intended to be or not. The fact that this is being alleged to have occured so long ago I can only assume that the Third Party is trying to initmate an injury claim before the MOJ reforms come in to play in 2013.

Hi
I've had my 2009 Fiesta for about 7 weeks now and there is a noise coming from the seat belt housing area that sounds like thin metal vibrating against each other. I have spoken to a few people at work who have Fiesta/Focus and a few have said they have the same problem.... Read more
Will take a look at that, someone did say to put silicone spray round the rubber door seal as they said it could be the rubber sticking and causing the noise, did out some rubber conditioner on the seal but didn't solve the problem.

Fault suggestion No 1:-
On earlier Audi's if I remember correctly there used to be a three pronged voltage regulator plugged into the binacle circuit board that could either fail or more usually just work loose. This used to cause random gauge display issues....
I know we have done this to death previously but last night took the biscuit.
A dark cold wet night. Vauxhall Vectra with one dim side light on one side and nothing showing on the other. Driving agressively; I.e. itching to overtake, rolling over the stop lines at traffic lights etc etc.
How does one report this nonsense? I kept thinking that the next MoT test would get him, but then I realised he was probably driving without an MoT or insurance and getting away with it because there are not enough checks carried out. Read more
The argument that it's OK to drive on sidelights/parking lights just because the driver can see where (s)he's going is ridiculous.
When I passed my driving test, use of side lights in streetlit areas was fairly common. I did it, and I saw police cars doing the same. One could see more as objects outside what a headlight would light were also seen and observed. You got a better view of the whole picture in my opinion....
I am a motortrader who entered a very nice 2004 volvo v70 turbo diesel estate into my local motor auction this car was vanderlized whilst in there care i spoke to auction manager Ian Carter who turned around and told me to claim on my traders insurance for the damage to its bodywork ,I asked why should i do that when its not my fault and your company were obliged to look after my goods and that i would consult a solictor in the morning his reply was to take the f.......g car out before he WOULD SCRATCH IT EVEN MORE and kick the s...t out of it AND told me f...k off and that the car was not there responsibilty even though it had been entererd into there auction that nite... damage to paintwork is around £750 ....I have been a VERY loyal customer for 30 years and spent £00000 s . and never caused any problems......WHAT WOULD YOU DO ????? and do you think i have the rite to damages for my car through small claims or a solictor....
