burnt out at 40,000m. all my previous cars have done over twice this and still been o.k.when sold on. I have recently swapped a second car, a 7 year old MX5 with 115,000m. on original clutch. But honda insist its the way I drive. The CRV is mainly used for long runs and I use the cruise control as often as I can also the acel/decel buttons which is the first car I have had this device on. Is there any way that my use or overuse of cc, or any other cause can bring about the early demise of said clutch. Repairing dealer can`t find fault with hydraulics. Read more
Hi all.
Just looking for a little advice. I have nearly always owned a Ford. My first car was a Volvo S40, but since then every car I have had has been a Ford. From Petrol V6s to my current TDCi Diesel.... Read more
Your first car was also a Ford Focus under th skin, what did you have done that warranted 800ukp of work.Remember Ford parts are normally the cheapest available and there are plenty of them about I cannot think of a cheaper make to maintain .
A Mazda dealer is offering a choice of two 0% finance deals over two or three-and-a-half years with either £1,000 or 50% up front on a new Mazda 2 Sport but is refusing to budge over the £13,000 list price. Is this a good deal, or should I push for some discount? I have always haggled successfully when buying a new car. He has also only offered £5,300 on my 09 Yaris with only 7600 miles - HJ's website suggests it's worth at least £5,400. Is the finance option worth pursuing at the cost of no discount? I offered to pay cash with the part-ex if I could have a discount on the new car but the dealer said that he could not take up that offer, quoting something about it being 'illegal'. Read more
Have you consider a new Yaris? I don't think is much far off the price for Mazda 2, the depreciation works out a lot better too?
I did, but I'm just not so keen on the shape of the new Yaris - I guess it's all down to personal taste.
watch out for car dealers selling AA warrantys or any warranty they just use them to buy a car but they are not worth the paper its written on i bought a car from a dealer car only done 300 miles after buying it but notice nocking noise from N/S/F phoned AA they give me name of garage to take car and they said its top wishbone so i phoned AA and told them and they said its wear and tear how can it be wear and tear if i only done 300 miles on the car so they wouldnt repair it SO BE WARNED DONT BUY A CAR FROM DEALER WITH AA WARRANTY OR ANY WARRANTY DONT BE FOOLED THEY DONT WORK you think your getting piece of mind but your not you might find your not covered so read warranty terms and conditions before you buy a warranty if you buy one

Not only grotesque in proportion but badly detailed as well. Cowley workers must shudder at what horror is likely to replace the current Mini! Read more

Hopefully my last fault post. Please help. ( how desperate I sound). When I get in my car and open the door the red 'door ajar' warning light' illuminates on the dash board. When I close the door it stays on. When I start the car the red light goes off (all doors and boot are shut). When I park up and take the key out it comes on again, even before I open the door. I then open the door, get out and lock it with the fob. The interior dome lights go out but the red ajar light stays lit. Help. P.s, will this eventually drain my battery or is the little red light too insignificant. Read more

Hi, my civic type r 2003 vetec was not kicking in then it did parked car up and in the morning started it but cut out after 5-10seconds and had a miss fire on cylinder 2, I have changed the cam and crank sensors cleaned all the earths replaced ecu checked the timing and still the same, swapped injectors around still the same and coils, would this miss fire cause the ecu to shut the engine down? I have also done a compression test and all is good only fault code was misfire detected in cylinder 2. Any idea please? Thanks Read more
I have been offered an ex company car, Mondeo TDCI 2.0 143 BHP manual Ghia Estate with 96 K on the clock, for 4 Grand.
I know these cars have a good reputation and don't personally know of any problems, with this particular one, it has been serviced regularly and not abused.... Read more
I had it serviced at Ford, £ 100.00 all in for a minor service, no problems found at all.
Plus I got it for £3900 ( as the service was due )...

I`ve already requested all parts that are removed, but I have a feeling all they are going to show is a burnt out clutch
