Please help. i have appealed a PCN 2 times now and it still stands with VCS.
Went to vist my nephew who just had major heart surgery at childrens hospital. I entered car park, took about 20 mins to find a parking space, eventually parked, i did attempt to put my car details in but machine didnt accept for some reason, neverthelesss still accepted my payment for parking. So I thought it was ok. I left within the time I had paid for. Few weeks later I recieved a PCN, sent a copy of ticket to prove i had paid. So they have not had any financial loss, but my fine now stands at £90.00. If not paid they state it may result in court proceedings!... Read more
Took dads K12 1.2 Micra in for a service and MOT yesterday at the local Nissan dealer. They do a good price for low milage cars over 3 years old, its just not worth going to an independant. The total price including MOT, service, clean and valet was £127 which in my book its good value.
On last years MOT (carried out at the same garage) there was an advisory that some front suspension bushes would need replacing on or before the next test. The car drives perfectly with no noises and to my surprise (and pleasure) the bushes weere not mentioned this time, how does that work, are Nissans self healing?... Read more
To be fair, a component might be legal, but benefit from being renewed. "pads, and discs squire" is a generic term for simple, but high margin work that a lot of customers will agree to.
Hi,
I bought a VW golf mk4 in December 2011 and the seller (a garage) has written in the ad: HPI Clear. Which is clearly not the case!
Indeed, I have put my car for sale and it appears that my buyer did a check on RAC and discovered the car has been written off in 2009. I was not aware of that, I have not done a check last year as it was stated HPI clear and I have a full history book with all MOTs since 2001. It was written-off under another plate.
What can I do? I have read that it is illegal from a garage to sell a car without saying it has been written-off. Can I contact the garage and ask for a refund? Do I need to go in small claim court?
Thanks for your help!! Read more

I've just been reading part of the lalest issue of a monthly car magazine. Apparently most car manufacturers expect the engines of their cars, apart from routine servicing, to last 300,000 to 500,000 miles. VAG expect, apart from wear and tear routine items, components to last 300,000 km or 186,000 miles, while Land Rover go for 150,000 miles or at least 10 years.
It seems as though most of us are changing our cars far too soon. My Octavia TDi has now done 221,000 miles. The engine is fine.... Read more
Anyone fancy a Mercedes Benz with a 30 year anti corrosion warranty? They'll have rusted away by now and MB remeged on the warranty.. Typical Germans or Americans depending on whom you believe was in charge in their Chrysler days...They must be supported by the BBC...:-) or be Lib/Lab/Cons :-)

Have had a 2011 1.7 ix35 for a few weeks. When I put the heating on the front windscreen to clear it in the morning, the fan goes on full and the air con turns on. Wondering whether this is a fault or intentional ? Read more
No its intentional - air con clears the screen quicker. Our i20 does exactly the same.

When you mention a PCN do you mean a PArking Charge Notice and not a Penalty Charge Notice?
