I have searched but not seen a similar post, so apologies if this is old territory.

I have recently bought a 2001 Focus 1.8 16v, and I have noticed that when I move the steering wheel just slightly to the left or right from straight, it doesn't straighten itself out and keeps gently veering whichever way, when on the flat.... Read more

Please advise. I have received a Parking Charge Notice (PCN) from a company called VP Parking Solutions Limited on 25th April. They state I breached terms and conditions and requesting payment of £70.50 within 28 days or £50 within 14 days. I ignored this letter. Since then I have received 3 more letters. The latest letter dated 26th June states Debt Registration Northampton County Court.

It goes on to say in the absence of any payment in regard to the oustading debt relating to the Parking Charge Notice xxxxxxxx, I write to inform you that the charge has now increased to the full amount of £94. If your payment of £94 is received in full no later than 10th July 2012, no further action shall be taken. If your payment remains unpaid after that date, I will register the debt plus all costs incurred in the recovery with the Northampton County Court. Should a judgment in Court be made agaisnt you in this matter, it may lead to detrimental information being registered against your name and address with UK credit references services. ... Read more

Hello tahinie, please do not be worried or upset by these sharks. They are only trying it on. There is no debt until AFTER a court hearing and a judgement against you, so fear not. Poatage stamps are cheap and so are threats so just completely ignore them. It costs a lot of money to go to court and you have more chance of a ride on Flipper than being taken to court. I have crossed swords with these b@st@rds in the past and I can send some copies of letters that would frighten Batman. DO NOT part with any money or contact them in any way. They will go away when they get fed up of being ignored. However, come the revolution and the Protection of Freedom Act is passed then this get out will be unlikely to be available after October 2012. So be extra careful in future. Good luck. Concrete

Hi,not sure if this is the right section but hope someone can help.

Anyone got access to a copy of Glass's guide.
I'm looking to trade a Honda jazz in shortly & would like a rough main dealer trade in price.
It's 2007 (56) with 98,000 miles.It has Full Main Dealer Service history,if that counts for anything :-)
I would say it is average condition for mileage/age.

Thanks Read more

my 2005 ford focus 1.6 tdci as developed a power loss problem. it will be driving ok then all of a sudden it just as no power, as though there is a blockage in the fuel line. its only for a couple of seconds, it loses power, growls a little and gives out a puff of smoke and then its fine again for a few moments then it does it again. its generally ok at higher speeds. its just been serviced, all the filters done, fuel filter changed twice just in case that was the problem, and i always use shell v-power diesel or similar. please help.

It's located below the fuses. According to haynes you need to rotate the three screws below the drivers side dash and you'll find it.

Hope this helps

My car is the auris t spirit which has the 17" wheels with 215/45 tyres could I fit the 15" wheels with 195/65 tyres which some auris models have as standard, so as to me give a softer ride?

The service manager at my local toyota dealership says there is a reason why the t spirit has the 17" wheels but he can't remember why!!!... Read more

Do all HSD's come with 17" wheels, if lower spec hybrids come with 15" then i see no reason why you shouldn't offer 'em up.

Is that the best the service geezer can do, 'can't remember'?...i'd be finding another service centre PDQ.

hello all,i have a wobble belived to be front end along with a rubbing grinding noise (ie metal on metal) should start by saying its had new bottom ball joints, new shafts both sides although very slight play in one cv as fitted a few months ago, new track rod ends, new bearings in both hubs and all bushes were changed on arms about a year ago with no play apon checking after reading many posts saying drive shafts (not possible) cvs have been checked no noises at all on full lock so have had the car in the air running and in gear anyone who is going to do this safety first (dont want to get run over by your own car) and in turn have stopped one wheel allowing other to spin at speed doesnt matter what side i stop noise is there along with a wobble that can be felt throughout the car which says its not drive shafts so i belive it could be gearbox or diff as doesnt matter on speed what gear acc or braking if your moving it wobbles can any one back up my thoughts as dont want to start pulling it apart to spend more money and not fix the problem! if anyone can shed some light on this would be great :-( Read more

Warped brake disc?

That would produce both the vibration and the noise. The giveaway here is that you'd feel it through the brake pedal, a bit like the ABS cutting in every time you brake....

I don't know the particular car but drive belts are normally near the bottom of the league for difficulty. There must be some means of tensioning it or it would fall off when it stretches. The main difficulty on most modern cars is access. If you are intending to buy this type of car you would do well to invest in a Haynes manual, you will recoup its cost on the first job you do.
