Hi All
Is it possible for part of the porcelain of a spark plug to disintegrate and fall into the engine, causing a low sounding rattling/flapping noise? My garage think so, despite the engine having been reconditioned 3 weeks ago (and only 260 miles driven). are spark plugs normally changed when reconditioning an engine?... Read more
Hi,
The wipers stopped working on my car last wek, and then suddently kicked in again, when they go off, the whole stick doesnt work, ie the washers, front and rear wipers so think it must be the stick control.
Just wondered what sort of price this would be to fix as I'm toying with the idea of getting a warranty for 12 months with warranty wise...?
Any advice welcome..! Read more
Don't waste your moneywith an aftermarket warranty,as regards to your wipers sounds like a relay is sticking easy and cheap job.
Hi I have a 2000 ford mondeo and a week ago it wouldn't start. I turn the ignition and just heard this noise and it wouldn't click over. A few people of suggested it is the starter motor. I have a friend who is trying to take the starter motor off but he is having problems, any suggestions? Read more

As our roads detiorarate under austerity and complex electronic bling sends cars to the scrapyard long before their galvanised bodies look old, this back to basics philosophy has to appeal to those of us not on a Top Gear presenters salary and perks. Bought in petrol format to keep things (relatively) simple I think the Duster makes a sensible purchase. Read more
I have looked at the Duster entry level and its not for me, no radio, back seat no split, door handles very flymsey, no spare wheel but loads of space below floor just right for a spare wheel or make the boot much bigger, only a 5 speed box not very good for MPG.
All in all I think the entry level is poor value for money, If you pay another £3000/4000 it makes a cheap car expensive.
I dont think I will test drive the LHD car.
P2413 7A EGR sytem performance fault code on Autel MaxiDiag. Cleaned EGR, tested on workbench all OK including movement and resistance readings. No performance change when MIL light comes back on after erasing code. Have checked wires 1 and 5 getting 3.4mv on tick over I take this as zero. But it stays at this reading when engine accelerated when it should rise to 5v.No MAF on this engine only turbo pressure and air temp sensors fitted. Any ideas where to check next???

I have received through the post Western Union Money Orders in the total amount of $577 (Yes US Dollars). How do I cash them?
I have tried to make contact with western Union, but their website sends to an e-mail address that bounces back, and local WU outlets cannot help me - they have never seen money orders before. Read more

Hello,
I took delivery of a used Toyota Verso (09 plate) from a Toyota dealer last week (described by the salesman as "mint"!), and have since found several issues.
The main one being that due a blocked air conditioning leak pipe, the car smelt unpleasant (suspicions were raised due to rusting present beneath the front seats.)
The carpet underlay was described as moist but not wet by the dealer on inspection.
They have rectified this with an antibacterial bomb which was activated with the air conditioning on while I waited at the dealership.
As I have two very young children, I am still a little concerned about the effectiveness of this treatment and was wondering if anybody had any experience of this?
I really don't want my kids breathing in bacteria etc if the treatment is flawed.
The other issues that have came to light were, heavily damaged wheel trim, which detached itself on the 50 mile drive to the dealer, missing aerial and inoperative cigarette lighters (confirmed damaged due to the damp issue)
Thanks in advance

I had my car towed into a Citroen Approved repairer
I was told that the cambelt had slipped and that I would need the cylinder head reworked new valves etc and a new injector as one was damaged I was told the total cost would be £2300 plus VAT I asked if the bottom end of the engine was damaged and was told No ... Read more
I don't think you will get very far, in court, without an independent engineer's report. I imagine this would mean inspecting the disassembled engine. This would be at your expense and might not be conclusive or support your contention. Have you seen the "damage" youself or have you jst been told that there is damage?

have had an issue with my local citroen dealership where a member of their staff has been caught, without my permission, using my car for personal use, and caught speeding, whilst it has been in for warranty repairs.
the car went in with engine issues, sudden loss of power and no acceleration. the garage has had three oportunitys to fix the car. the first time they did a software reset and gave it me back. the second time they replaced the timing chain and other associated parts. the third time they replaced the fuel pump. the car is, for now, OK but I've now had a letter from the police over an alleged speeding offence. this is dated to a Sunday, at 16:00, outside of business hours, at a time when i did not have possession of the car and had not given permission for the person who used the car permission to do so. surely this is classed as theft... Hello all, is there any update about this matter? I would like to know the reaction of the Service Manager when you asked for his details to put into the NIP. Cheers Concrete

I have never ever known a spark plug fall apart in 50 years of motoring.
