As other posters have pointed out, if you keep the heater controls on "recirculate" ANY car will mist up, especially at this time of year.

About to have 40k service and cam belt replacement on August 2007, 57 reg Fabia mileage 34600. engine 1.9 tdi.

Should water pump be replaced at same time? My first Fabia 2003 had cam belt only change at 3 years and 60k miles and gave no trouble during the rest of my ownership -2 years and 40k.... Read more

It seems that the VAG M-K generated 4 year cambelt change scam continues.

I would recommend that you follow the belt change instructions given in the printed service book supplied with the vehicle - not an ad-hoc profit generating scheme which seems to apply only in the UK....

I had a continuous clicking noise from the front right hand side of my car which I traced to the purge valve on the top of the charcoal filter for the emission control system. I disconnected the electrical connector for the valve, whilst I had the ignition "On" (foolishly) and now that I have reconnected it, the Exhaust emission warning light is "On"and the clicking has also since stopped.

Can anybody please tell me ... Read more

Just plug the connection back in, the fault will then go away, so the light will go out.

Clicking purge valve is normal. Once the canister is purged, it'll stop.

Finally spoke with the auto electrician.

He told me that water had penetrated the fuse box and caused some problems within the fuse box, which resulted in the battery blowing and the solenoid on the starter motor blowing. Although he did say he did not diagnose the solenoid problem. ...

My vehicle is fitted with the Nissan connect premium audio system that has a Hard drive Sat Nav system. It works great but is very out of date. Via a Nissan dealership I obtained a Navteq 2011 DVD update however when I try to instal it comes up with an unreadable message. Nissan cannot help or wont help and the dealership is likewise clueless. I understand this is a problem but surely there is a solution. The disc I have is a genuine supply and although I didn't have to pay these retail as circa £170. Advice welcome please Read more

Hi, I was wondering if a 16 mile each way commute would be a problem for the DPFs in modern diesels?

Well for what it is worth, I have just taken delivery of a brand new mondeo estate as a company car.

I want / need something big as a I have to tow heavy stuff for work occasionally and also sail boats at the weekend (whilst having to transport a baby too and fro) all of which needs weight and room. I just do not want an MPV they're just not my thing (and due to having a weaker floor pan becasue of the clever seats the galaxy can tow less)....

Hi,

I need to replace the starter motor on my 1.8 TDCi 2004 Ford Focus but I can't find it.

The manual I have says the bolts should be below the air filter but I've taken it off and can't find them / see the starter motor.

Does anyone know where it is and how to get to it ?

Thanks Read more

Driving home this afternoon the battery warning light came on and the car lost all power coming to a stop. I re-started the car OK and drove the remaining half mile home without any warning light or problems. Any ideas? Read more
