This is my honest opinion, that smart fortwo pulse micro hybrid car is worth for that price. Though it is small it has a good fuel efficiency power. Read more

Hi,

I am seeking advice from anyone regarding the following problem. I purchased a 2008 VW golf 1.9tdi from a private trader at the beginning of October 2011 for what I thought was good price of £5300. The vehicle had done 95k miles but had a full VW service history.... Read more

Hi,
Reference the camshaft problems on corsas
I recently bought a 1.4 Tigra convertible twin port .1364cc 63000 miles ,with part service history.First reg 03 01 2005.

The car runs fine ,sounds reasonably quite etc.

From reading the posts , it seems that most of the camshaft problem cars are 1.0 or 1.2 .not the 1.4 .is this correct?

Does anybody know if vauxhall have released the engine numbers for the apparently faulty batch that's has camshaft / torque setting problems .

Any help would be appreciated ,particularly with the appropriate engine numbers.

Hello, my friends seat is acting really wierd first thing in the morning, after a short drive if she tries to accelerate the car, even with the pedal to the floor nothing happens, no acceleration-nothing. once the car achieves full working temp its ok.

This happens only in the mornings, it can be left all day and start and work fine!! any ideas?... Read more

Has this only started happening recently on damp mornings? If so then it is likely to be a high tension ignition problem.

Ignition leads(probable cause), coil pack (or maybe coil/distributor cap/rotor arm at this age?) The damp autumnal mornings could be causing high voltage leakage....

Driving home the other day I found my indicators had stopped working. When I got home I played around a little and realised the hazard flasher was dead too, so was the windscreen wiper intermittent position, the two faster speeds worked properly though. Also when I locked the car the indicators flashed as usual.

Next morning everything was working fine again so crossing my fingers I hoped it was a one-off. No such luck, the same happened again, only to start working after the car had been standing a few hours.

Any ideas please?... Read more

Hi all,

We purchased a Mazda 6 TD2 in Apr 2009 (FSH, 56K, 2003 plate) for £5250. After 4 months the fuel pump went, one week after we got it back the turbo blew (spectacularly). We asked for our money back - didn't even get a response. We went through our credit card company and eventually the FSO - achieved nothing. Now 2 and a half years later we finally take the car back - supposedly fixed. We get another garage to recover the vehicle and the windscreen is smashed and the engine managment system is fried.... It'd be nice if people who had fitted winter tyres could give a sort of commentary on them over the winter.

I had Dunlop Winter Sport 4Ds fitted to my Mazda 6 last week. So far, the temperature hasn't dropped into the optimum range for winter tyres, which I believe is 7°C or less. Nevertheless, the tyres have been great in the very wet conditions I've been driving in up here. The grip is really good (I have been testing this out on some steep bends) and I think I paid a fair price for the tyres, fitting, balancing and tracking. There is increased noise from them but I was expecting something like that and it really isn't too bad. I feel safe as well, which is the main thing. Read more

I've fitted a pair of Lassa winter tyres to our FRV and also a couple to my mother in laws Arosa. (Not going to enter into any debate about only fitting pairs in this topic)

The FRV seems a little quieter but actual grip levels compared to the goodyear tyres they replaced feel exactly the same to me - I'll wait to see what happens if we get any snow and report back....
