I have a Toyota Avensis T3-X 2004 which had a short block replacement because of the problem of using oil in July 2009 under warranty, (service in February of that year), In June 2011 the car suffered complete engine failure which seems to be down to timing chain failure and now needs a new engine. The dealership is saying this can happen at any time (has only done approx 60,000 miles) Has anyone else encountered this problem. Frann Read more

Although when cold my astravan will start ,after a run it will only start after 30-40 secs cranking which cant be good for the starter or battery. I have added a fuel sytem cleaner and changed the crank sensor to no avail. Its as if it needs to self bleed but not to bad on initial start up. any thoughts.. thank Big Kev Read more
Ive just had to call the RAC out as temp sensor was at max while driving back from work and the engine management light came up.
It's been diagnosed as a radiator leak (the guy showed me exactly where it was leaking from)... Read more
Decided to just get a new radiator installed. I phoned all the garages aroud (6-7) and from the sounds of it they all use the same supplier (one garage told me that their supplier has been asked about this models'd radiator 6 times already today lol).
Because of the complexity of the removal (front bumper has to be taken off - much like a passat) the labour accounts for 2/3rd's of the price. £300 including VAT - does that sound reasonable...
Hi folks, I have 2001 vectra B 1.6 16v with a bad misfire, I have changed the plugs and the coilpack but misfire still persists. The EML does not come on but i did the brake pedal and accelerator thingy to get the codes and this is the codes it threw up,
