'Tis hard to say, if greater Want of Skill Appear in Writing or in Judging ill, But, of the two, less dang'rous is th' Offence, To tire our Patience, than mis-lead our Sense Some few in that, but Numbers err in this, Ten Censure wrong for one who Writes amiss; A Fool might once himself alone expose, And ten low words oft creep in one dull line: While they ring round the same unvaried chimes, With sure returns of still expected rhymes; Wher'er you find "the cooling western breeze", In the next line, it "whispers through the trees"; If crystal streams "with pleasing murmurs creep", The reader's threatened (not in vain) with "sleep" . . . Thought people might be interested as HJ writes for the Telegraph, and so does James May which is probably why Clarkson's getting most of the hate and May somewhat exempt. Note even the headline is 'Jeremy Clarkson criticised for parking in disabled bay' when the car in the picture is the Peugeot James May was driving and parked beside him.

While I entireely agree with Unthrottled and with Jamie's final post, this thread has gone too far away from the perfectly reasonable topic which it started with.
I repeat what I said in another thread:...

Hi there,
I have a 2000 peugeot expert which has an itermittent cutting out problem. After cut out it shows the P1112 fault code, and from readin through the forum it is suggested rail pressure sensor. I have replaced this with one out of a perfect running vehicle but still cutting out. Is the pressure regulator the next thing to try? any help would be apreciated. Read more
I recently purchased (used) a Dec 2010 Renault Clio Sport Tourer diesel.
I notice that after filling with fuel, there is a drip of fuel from under the bodywork behind the rear wheel arch. I have never spilled fuel on to the bodywork, but there may have been drips or froth which would have gone down the little drain hole which is located within the recess in which the fuel filler is located.
Is this drain meant to take the fuel back into the tank, or does this allow the small amount of fuel which may be spilled to leak out on to the road? If it is meant to drain it back into the tank, it may either be leaking or not working; or of course there may be a slight leak somehere around the filler pipe itself. Once the car has run just a few miles, the leak stops. The total amount leaking is probably pretty small, but visible drips can be seen. I was first alerted to it by an oil bloom on the wet tarmac of my driveway where the car is usually parked.

The "the little drain hole which is located within the recess in which the fuel filler is located" is there to drain any water out - which may have dripped in.

Having replaced a rear wheel bearing on my car 3 weeks ago and been advised by a friendly garage that the torque should be 260lbs which i was horrified at as that seems more like a front wheel bearing torque it is now very noisy. I am sure they have given me the wrong info, can someone give me the correct torque setting and i will have to replace it again. Many thanks........Martin Read more

Apologies for quoting the Daily Mail but this just had to be posted.

The questions have only been published since the invention of the written theory test in 1996, and that was the DSA's bright idea at the time. 15 years on they've now decided thats no good, yet appear to be taking none of the 'blame' for implimenting such a system. People like them always believe changing the system will change everything, its never the individuals fault its always the systems fault. I must admit i took my first test before i was ready and deservedly failed but it was useful to find out under examination what i was and wasnt good at and me and my instructor worked from there. I still dont get how so many people can fail the theory, its not hard to sit and study the information before going to the test, yes i probably forgot some of it afterwards but with driving experience that information slowly became imbedded in my brain so as i didnt need to think about it. Most of them must be people who think they know it all and think its going to be easy.
I've recently bought a 2002 MR2 and the nearside headlight unit has condensation on the clear plastic. I've read that some people cure this problem in other cars by drilling a small hole to provide some ventilation and a way for the moisture to escape. I wondered if anyone has done this on an MR2 MK3 and if so where is the best place to create the hole.... Read more

I've read tales of woe about the deisel in the Mazda 6, but I'm trying to bottom out whether the problems also affect the 2.2 version introduced in 2009 or so. I can see that the 2 litre jobby comes in for plenty of stick re DFP issues.
Thanks,... Read more
Having done a bit more research it seems less prone. Must confessed really shocked by the diesel stories on this BB and elsewhere and Mazda's seemingly stubborn customer service. I've had two Mazda 3s both of which did over 300,000 miles, the most recent a 2.0 diesel dating to 2001 (think is was sourced from Renault).
