My rear brake cylinder was leaking.
How long does it take to change each of the rear brake cylinders and do I need new rear brake shoes due to contamination ? Read more
I've looked all over the internet for decent LGV training companies, I've read many bad reviews on certain LGV training companies.
My advice to people who are looking to become a lorry driver, please be very careful as some of the bad reviews seem to be written by the dodgy companies out there to make the good companies look bad and therefore steal their genuine customers.... Read more
The above advice is from an experienced HGV driver and well worth following.
Thank you so much, Pat.
Hello there everyone... :)
I'm going to be selling my Mini Cooper S convertible soon, to be replaced with a Fiat 500, mostly because the day-to-day running costs of the Mini are proving to be a lot.... Read more
Not a lot of boot space to start with in a compact convertible. Finding LPG can be a bit of a chore too.
It's usually possible to tease semi decent fuel economy from a small modern car-although some will require more care than others....
Can anyone help with the Correct service intervals for this Citroen. According to the Peugeot 407, with a similar engine, the suggestion is that the Oil should be changed every 15,000 kms and a 'Major' service done every 30,000kms.
But the Service Book on my Citroen states that Servicing should be at 30,000 km. Intervals.... Read more
I have a 407 hdi and the oil recommended is also the most expensive if you have a service book all the service intervals are shown.
I have a CK125, and a problem has loomed whereby in 1st gear, all the lights go out, and the dashboard lights go out. In the other gears (n,2,3,4,5), the lights switch back on. What steps shall I take to check this out? Many thanks GREG Read more
I assume its a motorbike and such you have more chance of an answer in the bikers cafe.
I just found this forum and thought the posters seemed to have good knowledge on motoring.
I wanted to know if readers had any idea where I could buy repossessed cars besides auctions. I have bought a few via auction but is there a way to source the vehicles before they reach the auction and get them at an even cheaper price?... Read more
People in the know generally don't give their secrets away for nowt in order to keep carpetbaggers out. There's no free shortcut to getting a car for less than it's market value.

Got chatting in the dealers yesterday while picking up my IX35 from it's first service and ended up doing a deal to swop it for a new Juke.
Already bought a turbo juke from the same place about 6 months ago, but this time bought a diesel as I do more miles than SWMBO and couldn't stand the 30mpg of the dig-t.
Got a good price for my IX35 in the deal, however if anyone is still looking for a 2.0 diesel premium in casa White, drop me a line and you might be able to save yourself some cash by buying mine from me direct! Read more
It will be interesting -
There are quite a few owners getting rid of their Juke diesels because of abysmal MPG....
Have owned car for 8 weeks in which time it has required a new wheel bearing, rust patch repaired and is now back in the garage diagnosed with a failed DMF and damaged clutch resulting from this failure. The car is 2006 with 56000 miles and came with a 12 month warranty the warranty company are refusing to pay claiming that this is wear and tear I have been quoted 1030 pounds to repair, the dealer is offering as a "good will gesture" to cover half the bill. Should they be paying for all of it do I have any recourse under the sale of goods act due to the short time owned. The vehicle has a full saab service history! Read more
Hi again, thanks for that.
Lucy is correct, Dual Mass Flywheel failure is normally regarded as a mechanical failure rather than wear and tear....

This is a ford escort the most easiest car to fix, so the brake pipe breaks make another and fit it & the cylinder is held on with 2x 10mm spanner bolts sometimes only one bolt hole.
Don't fit a seal kit as the bore wears and these cylinders are so cheap anyway....
