Hi im just wondering if any one else has the oil leak on the audi aps engine that comes from the tensioner gaskets which leak on to the exhaust, and where do you buy the gasket kit from and does it work ? or even better does someone know a specialist that does the repair and how much. apparently this is a common problem on the v6 engine ,any help would be appreciated .

I took my car in for an MOT & service this saturday and had a phone call from the garage to say that car had passed the MOT but when they had drained the oil, for the service, they found that the coil that goes into the sump had been cross threaded by whoever had changed the oil last and they can't now put anymore oil in until either they can find someone to re-bore the sump or, more likely I will need a new sump. The last time the oil was changed was at last years service but, this was done at a different garage. I really don't know where I stand as I have had no trouble with the car in the last year and suspect that the garage that have the car now have done the cross threading but, obviously, are not going to admit to it.
Is it a major job if they replace the sump and is there any way I could know which one of the 2 garages is responsible for the cross threading?... Read more
If the helicoil works buy a Fumoto oil drain valve and fit it in place of the sump plug....it will never need to come out again, just lift and twist to drain the oil.

We bought an i10 on scrappage. Decent car for the Mrs but I am 6'3 so it wasn't comfy. As a city car with some fast stuff its fine, but any journey longer than 40 minutes and it became unpleasant.
It gave me 44 MPG on my commute to work and the 200 BHP 2 litre turbo charged petrol engined car that replaced it is getting about 38 MPG on the same run. Our other car with a 2.2 litre diesel gets 48 MPG so I concur on the dissapointing MPG....

When you switch your PC on, by default the caps lock is off so you must have pressed the button at some point. There is usually an LED on the keyboard that indicates when you've got caps lock switched on.
If all else fails, then just reboot the PC and it will default to the off setting.
I would appreciate any help or information with this problem I'm having.

my Volvo central locking has been a bit iffy on occasions but now neither of the neaarside doors will unlock and I can't use that side of the car. In the past such faults have fixed themselves and I have then been able to clean the terminals. But now, I can't get the doors open to fiddle with the terminal block. Any suggestions please?... Interesting one. Maybe the door isnt secured on as tightly as it should be? Forcing it to move about.
I had a weird noise on a car i had in the door once, took the door casing off to find a marble rattling around it....

Do you mean the cam cover gaskets. The tensioner is on the front on the engine. Some one may be able to help you if you declared where you live. You could also post on www.vwaudiforum.co.uk Regards Peter
