I assume it is the switch, I've checked the bulb and fuse, both are okay.
This switch has a bunch of wires going into it, it is surrounded by a metal bracket held on by two nuts and the switch itself looks to be held on by a couple of Torx bolts. I cant see any reason why this rather big u-shaped metal bracket is there, except to be in the b***** way.
The question is how straight forward a job is it, are there any snags I should watch out for? Read more

Well this is all fine and dandy and very interesting but is this job fiddly.
The reason I ask is because I read somewhere (a bit vague on this) there is a little rod to connect up and while you are doing this oil is gradually dribbling out all down your sleeve etc.

Hi,

I've had my car for close to six months now, during which time I've had to replace one wheel bearing (bought the car second hand, and this was covered by the garage I bought it from) on the driver side, and had a curious issue with the electrics - but now the passenger side wheel is beginning to make an all too familiar noise when driving, so, before I get this bearing replaced as well - I wondered if Focus' are well known for needing new wheel bearings so often?... I have a 2000 Focus, its done 185000 and has had 2 near side rear bearings in it's time but I don't think they need replacing too often.

Quick question, is there a recommended place to get good quality and well priced wiper blades from or are they all pretty much the same?... Read more

Hi,

My dad bought a car recently (59 plate) and the standard manufactuer warranty balance of 3 years / 60,000 miles applied. However, as part of the deal we agreed that this be extended to 5 years / 100,000 miles in line with current new car promotions.... Read more

I had the sales manager go through a very extensive checklist of what the car had and didn't have which included the question of 5 year extention. It is stated clearly on the document he provided that this will extend the 3 years to 5 years / 100,000 miles and no more was said on the matter. Because this 5/100,000miles is now the benchmark for this manufacturer, I had no reason to think it was anything other than a true extension.

I think I will call the dealer and write one last time. Am I correct in saying that if I wish to take this through the small claims court, I would now be in a position to do so?

Yes my car also has a failing input bearing car is just over five years old (late 2004 executive model) with 75k miles. Honda says it’s not a common problem, car out of warranty, high mileage and refuse to comment on this forum. Honda there is a problem and they should act on resolving the issue instead of making up excuses

Also when the civic was two years old had the tailgate re-sprayed under warranty due to it rusting around the chrome part above the number plate. The guy at Honda told me this was a common problem as the chrome moulding cuts into the paintwork causing it to rust. I now keep seeing other civics all rusting in this area obviously where owners have not picked up on the original fault.... Read more

Honda Civic A Quality car are you joking ...... I will never ever buy a Honda again.

Thats up to you, but for its age and mileage I reckon its doing well,I would rather have those problems than some get on newer cars and I don`t mean Honda`s...

Folks,

'95 non-hydractive.

I have just changed 4 x corner spheres, as ride was becoming harder.
Accu one last changed 2005, and anti-sink 2009.
-
Despite this, I can really still feel every bump in the road.
-
There is a stark difference between how it's been in the past having changed the spheres (superb ride), and now.
-
Have exercised up/down to full extent a few times....LHM level is at top mark at highest position.
-
Did full filter/reservoir clean/Hydraflushing system 2009, and has recond pump fitted last year.
-
If anyone has ANY ideas as to what I can try, I would really appreciate it.

Many Tks, Steve

Hi Steve

Firstly are you sure you have the correct spheres, double check on the numbers, if you still have the old ones compare the size of the orifice with the new and make sure they are both the same size. Try bouncing each corner, you should have 4" - 6" of vertical movement, if not that also would indicate incorrect spheres, you should have movement on each corner, if one is solid that would indicate a failed sphere diaphragm. I suspect you may have been supplied with hydractive spheres. I have 'comfort' spheres on my XMs and they give a much softer ride....

Why doesnt a manufacturer make a hybrid with two electric motors on the back wheels of a frontwheel drive car? These could be used for occasional use in slippery conditions, and could prove inexpensive to make.
