Hello,
Can anyone give an idea of what to do to my car, I've been observing a check engine light on the dash Board for a while now. But recently, I changed my driveshaft due to the noise each time I want to make a u turn, but immediately I changed this: I noticed a stranged light from the dashboard on the ABS each time I move a bit forward. Pls, what can i do to put it back to normal any advise would be hightly appreciated.... Read more
I have had a frustrating month of car shopping, now that my three year old Peugeot 407sw has to return to the lease company. I cannot find a new car that combines reasonable rear legroom with comfortable enough seats for the adults in the front. The skoda superb and mazda 6 are too firm, the skoda has uncomfortable ridged edges on the front seats. Why is there a move to this kind of firm seating? I'm going to buy my 407 and wait to see if the new 508 has retained some French comfort! Is it just me? Read more

Has anyone had any experiance with the washers on a Megane II?... Read more
Fixed!!!
Well after going through most of the car testing wires and checking plugs etc it turned out to be the fuse not making a good conection on one side of the fuse box. That easy....
All working and happy again :)
Hi anyone had a similar experience, it would appear to get worse when the electrical load on the car is increased. Have cleaned all the earth points and had the ecu cleared and rebooted with the latest software updates but still the problem exists. This firstly started when i changed a dipped head light bulb which when they were turned on stopped the engine.Cleaning the earths seems to have got rid of that problem but now i am left with this intermittent fault. The fuel gauge also drops when this occurs and when the ignition is quickly switched off and on again the faults are cleared untill it decides to reoccur. One thing i have noticed is that during the period of the ignition being swiched off the interior lighting becomes brighter. THe output from the alternator is 13.1 volts with everything turned off is this considered low as with everything on it can drop to 11.4. I wondered if this could be part of the problem.
Any info would be gratefully recieved. Read more
Looking for suggestions on what to buy for my next car. I would like a fairly new Audi A3 after that car so am only looking to have the car for a year or so. My budget will be around 8-9k. I currently drive a Focus Mk1 1.6l and do not really want to downsize but would if it was a smart option for my money and and helped towards my long term goal. So I am looking for a similar sized hatch that is good value for money, would hold value well and also looks good. Can't go with a too big engine due to my age and insurance! Any advice appreciated. if you are only 18 put the money in a building society towards a deposit for a house in the future. this is the best advice you will get and it hasn't cost you anything. jag.
Just road tested a Seat Alhambra with a view to purchase. Everything was fine apart from what I considered to be a stiff clutch action. Gear changing was okay but would welcome some feedback on reasons for the clutch situation !

Our family 2000 Merc C 180 has a very hesitant front wiper. Sometimes it works while at other times it just stops. I have checked the fuse but all seems well. Any ideas? Read more
Motors can certainly be a problem on these, but often fail because the linkage starts to seize. The sweep and rise and fall of the single wiper arm linkage is very complicated action and very expensive to replace.hth
any one out there got any suggestions as to why after having my head gasket done on my pug 106 is there now a leak in my rad it wasn there before i have never had to top it up but now its dripping out and having to put loads of water in Read more
when a head gasket fails it normally causes excess pressure in the cooling system and any inperfections within the system will be found.
If the head gasket had failed due to a water problem rather than an oil problem ( most common on 106 ) then the rad may of been leaking just prior which caused the head gasket to blow or as I sugested earlier once the system had suffered excess pressure this weakend a weak rad !...
I wondered if anyone has used Quicks.co.uk to by a car and what their experience has been?
