We had to pull the override handle under the floor in our 2004 Renault Megane Grand scenic, The battery had flattened and we had to push start it.

I had reversed out of a parking space in a private (school) car park and was at the point of moving forward to the exit when I was hit in the side by a driver who had reversed out of an oppositye bay. I consider that I was staionary at the time and i have witnesses. At the time and the following day the driver admitted liability. Now he is saying that he has taked to his insurance company and they say the liability is 50:50. I strongly refute this but where do I stand? I don't want this to go to my insurance comany as the cost of repair (£260) is less than my excess. What action should I take please?

I posted a hit and run incident recently on this forum (car parked outside home, but neigbour did spot all the vital details of the car). I suspect the police and insurance would have been more prompt if I had the video evidence. Would give me less headache as it would have caught driver and damage to his own car....

I have a Mondeo Mk3, 2.0 TDCI and have just had to replace my drive belt becuase when the air con clutch cuts in the belt doesn't go round properly and snapped. It's almost like when the clutch is engage it's "locked up" on the pulley.... Read more
Ok Thanks for the reply, I will take the clutch apart at the weekend and see what condition it's in. Anything else I could look for?

owned the car for 2 yrs. replaced coolant fans after overheating last autumn car does `nt get used very often, recent journeys( low mileage 40 miles tops) yesterday travelled 25 miles, after 20 miles gearshift seemed to tighten up , it`s the tightest shift i have experienced,on any car even before this problem, arrived home and exhaust emission light was on dash, noticed when turning ignition off. after a few hours light still on , this morning started car and light went out . could it be lack of oil in gearbox,? no sign at all of leaking oil, need to know where filler plug to check oil level, any suggestions gratefully accepted.

The original thread was locked after a records number of posts but the problem is not only ongoing but is getting worse - unless you want a 1.7L car at the new prices - where they are almost off the shelf. One might suppos they have been made in preference rto maintain Hyundai profitability

It took the lad 8 minutes to change the door mirror on my Civic 5 years ago.
Cannot comment on FRV but the chap said he'd one dozens and it was auto pilot work....
Have recently bought c15 van dont seem to get any power out off it when you go to take of in lower gears also when you have to slow down behind traffic it is very sluggish on the uptake anybody any ideas Read more

Hi I have a 2004 focus estate 1.8 TDCi a few weeks ago I had a problem with it stalling the engine management light and glow plug lights came on. I took it to a garage who could not find the fault, they cleared the fault codes and everything has ran normal since. I have gone to go out in it this morning and after about 10 miles i got a strong smell of diesel in the car.

If it smells of diesel then possbily one of the leak off pipes from the injector has come off? Sometimes the injectors fail and need to be either replaced or recoded.
Does the engine lose power at all? i.e go into "limp home" mode?...
