Hi, i wonder if anyone can help me diagnose a problem with my front suspension , about a month ago i started getting a clunking noise from the front passenger side and auto- matically thought it was a ball joint , but couldnt see anything or feel any play , the noise has become steadily worse over the past few weeks. a few days ago i tried rocking the wheel with the car on the ground and i can move the wheel towards me from the top slightly and it makes a slight clunk noise, i lifted the bonnet and checked the bolt on top of the shock and the little cup looking thing is loose, i had a new wheel bearing on the same side about 3 weeks ago so i dont know if that has anything too do with it. Also when i am turning the steering wheel when stationary i can hear a clunk in the same area when i turn the wheel that way , how much would it be for a strut mount or ball joint? i`m guessing i would have to change both sides, sorry to go in to lots of detail, hope someone can help, thanks in advance simon Read more
Hi i live in the UK. sure its the same system on most of the accords out there. I have a Honda accord 2006 model..And because my rain wiper sensor wasnt reacting very well with the rain, I stupidly to decide to take off the rain/wiper sensor (the black box behind the rear view mirror) and now when i try to put it on it doesent react to anything just continuosly wipes the windscreen every 10 secs as if it was not on.. My Fiesta MK2 (1988) was attacked last night - the door was prised upon and someone used the WD40 that I left inside to set the thing alight. One seat burned through, and all the roof cladding is ruined. The fire service sprayed a bit of water around (I found it an hour or so after the fire had gone out) and during the night the battery has drained.
I think its salvageable. The passenger seat will slot nicely into the driver's side. Needs a new seatbelt, and the roof is now bare, but the mechanical stuff is fine as far as I can tell. Luckily the fire just burned itself out before the rest of the upholstery too hold. There was a full tank of fuel, so could have been much worse.... Read more

I don't care in the least about how it looks. I'll happily take a wire scrubber to any part that needs scrubbing, it's not like I'm ever going to sell the motor is it!?!...

My alternator drive belt tensioner has sheared off 3 times in 3 weeks. My garage say that they have tried the vw technical dept. who say that this is not a recognised problem with these cars and are not able to offer a solution. I would be grateful for any help. Read more
Replace the alternator drive pulley which contains a one-way clutch. These seize, causing drive oscillations which break the tensioners. It is a very well known problem - VAG porkies again?

Key fob neither opens or locks car at present it's been faulty for quite awile now doors willl lock/unlock with key in drivers door car starts ok with key but you have to be quick to start up or alarm will go off. Iv'e been advised to do a re-boot after every thing goes to sleep

I doubt if a re-boot will fix this but you can try re-synchronising the remote key .If you have 2 keys,this can be done by putting 1 key in steering lock and turn to ignition position;close the doors and put non working remote key into door barrel and turn to fully lock position at the same time press one of the remote buttons.Worth a try.hth
I am considering buying either a 3 series saloon or coupe 320d around 3 years old, there appear to be at least 3 different specs for the engine and 3 trim levels (m sport, ES and SE)
My question is firstly is there any difference in the performance and economy of the saloon and coupe? and secondly how can i tell which spec engine each car i'm looking at has? and thirdly what is the difference between the three trim levels? ... Read more
....although I can't find one on my coupe, so you may have to get a dealer to check the chassis number to find out for certain.

The fuel filter was replaced 8000 miles ago.
Two spark plug were coverd by dirt and a bit of oil when I checked them,
and when I disconnected the injector at the good spark plugs the engine wanted to stop. Thanks
