Just seen an advert in my local rag saying the following:
FUEL FROM WATER
Hydrogen diesel fuel enhancement
guaranteed 10-15% increased MPG and lower emissions
£85
I already know that if things sound too good to be true but does anybody know any more on this wether it works or not?

A delightful little roadside scene this afternoon. A 7/8 year old boy in school uniform, unashamedly playing with a "hot wheels" model car set. Could have been a scene viewed at any time in the last 100 years, proves that kids' imagination is alive and well despite being the big screen generation. Read more
I did as it happens there was a funny shape Dodge Csomething slashed from 24k to 17k for sale there.
Just a heads up for anyone who might be delayed tomorrow morning - coming in from Lymm at 9.00am then up the Parkway.
No comment on rights or wrongs of this, just for info

i put my car into a car body repair centre for work, i asked the price for 2 repairs ---- 1 to do a cheap repair job that wouldnt go through the insurance company price £350 or 2----- to go through the the insurance company and pay the excess and get a new pannel at a price £1300 , i went for the second option to get a real good job . now i used a garage that i have used before and normally do excellent work but this time i got the car back and they had done the cheap job (i.e) £350 and charged the insurance company the full £1300 . im not pleased at all and think this is fraudulant? i havnt said anything to them yet because i wanted to get some information. i took it to another garage and they cofirmed my thinking , its not a new panel . the garage that did the repair wasnt the insurance company approved garage so they will not get involved, any ideas what i can do or what i shoul do.
some information would be real helpfull

It's been a year or so since I last hired a car in the UK.
I looked online today at hiring in September. Reading the small print, if I want to avoid the extra charges associated with a Credit Card and use my debit card I require:
1. An Equifax check and 2 telephone references
2. Two additional forms of identification (NOT driving licence or credit card)
This is from one of the companies I have seen recommended on here. This is in the general T&C's of the contract.
When did the rules change ? Will I be expected to give a DNA sample/retina scan/fingerprints when I pick the car up too ? Read more
That may be the "insecurity" that explains the difference in attitude to CC vs "cash"
[which Debit Cards are supposed be as good as ].
They are only a VAR. I can still give my credit card to the actual vendor to cover any insecurity. This company is only a middle man to agree a basic price between the customer and vendor. The 2% at this stage is pure profit to the man in the middle. I will still have to give some form of payment at the airport to cover accidental damage (or pay to exclude through insurance) and fuel surcharge.
I have owned my petrol 3.0 V6 for 5 years and now have 80k on the clock.
There have been many different problems with this car over the last few years but one problem will not go away.. The alarm goes off for no apparent reason. The official Peugeot dealer that I used to go to has closed down so I had to switch to a different one.
These new people say that the last alarm activation is not held in memory so they are have problems finding the reason for the alarm going off. I am sure that the last dealer just looked at the event on his PC and replaced what part such as a bonnet switch or door lock sensor assembly or whatever was needed.
Can anyone confirm that the last alarm activiation is actually held in memory (maybe as a fault code)? If yes, what should this dealer be looking for?
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help. Read more
two things
1.
There is button on the dashboard, just by your right knee
If you turn off the engine, remove the key, then press that button
Hold the button in until the light come on on the button near the handbrake
Now the ultrasonic sensors are disabled
2.
I've had my 607 since november, and the alarm never went off until I fixed the heater control flaps a couple of weeks ago. Also I tossed the pollen filter.
Now the alarm goes off a lot
I'm pretty sure that wind is gusting through the ventilation system and setting off the ultrasonic sensors
When I leave the heater in recirculating mode it doesn't seem to do it
Probably if I put the pollen filter back it would help
hi, can anyone please help me,.
i've just bought a Golf that was running a bit fast, constantly
revving, i thought the young chav that had it before me had been
trying to race tune it or something, i figured it'd be easy enough
to adjust the idle,.
anyway, i couldn't really bring it down much so i took it to a garage
where the mechanic brought the idle down a bit more but told me i need
a new part, on my way home to order this part i lost my house keys
which resulted in a rather hectic afternoon & i cannot remember for the
life of me what it was i was supposed to order,.
he said,
it was like the choke was stuck half on all the time & it wasn't adjusting anymore,.
please anyone, any ideas what i should be ordering?,
any suggestions could jog my memory,.
thanks

Check for a perished or split short rubber brake vacuum servo hose where it connects to the inlet manifold.
Secondary timing belt failure after 6000 miles, 1year + 3 days out of warranty, belt clearly worn to virtually nothing then snapped, tensioners apparently fine. Hefty rebuild cost, though garage that fitted original belt offering to pay half costs. Wondering whether it is likely to have been faulty belt or faulty fitting and about manufacturer?s liability?
Anyone similar experiences or advice much appreciated.

The belt had worn away at the edge and had become very narrow and then snapped. When the breakdown guy took the cover off the whole area was covered in fine shreds of former belt! I wondered whether it was possible that the belt was not parallel?
I also may have been wise leaving the old belt on! Of course one never knows with these things!?!
......... I could see what was going to happen. A car transporter was stationary at the head of the queue at traffic lights, indicating turning right. The car behind was close up to the transporter. I stopped a good car's length behind the other car, simply because I guessed what would happen. As the transporter started off the car followed closely ~ too closely! Because of the long overhang of the transporter behind it's rear axle (probably a full car's length) as the transporter turned the right-hand rear corner moved backwards. The car driver panicked and sounded his horn but was too slow to reverse and the inevitable contact between the two vehicles occurred. I just hope the car driver learned from the experience. I felt quite smug because I'd seen it all before. Read more
The same danger is apparent with skip lorries - those wheel things that extend - and bin lorries too
Hi, this is driving me nuts! Car was running fine then occasionally after first driving away, the ABS and Airbag warning lights would come on, ABS first. The tach will also drop to zero revs for a second or two then bounce back up. The lights would go out when ever I changed gear so its seems they come on at 1100 rpm and above. While driving at night, when the fault occurred, all the lights got quite a bit brighter (headlights etc) as in an increase in voltage. Battery is fine, no warning light there. Any ideas? Read more
Odd thing is, its stopped doing it now. It was always very intermittent and dropping revs or switching ignition on/off always cleared it. Maybe a bad connection on the voltage sensing wire.
Well if it takes off Wales will be well minted !
