Hello, I got a 12 month ban for failing to provide blood sample to check for cannabis.
I've bought a bike and have to ride the kids to school on it. Every time I'm struggling for breath going up great big hills with freezing cold rain lashing down on me I have to fight the anger of feeling constantly punished for a silly mistake.... Read more
This forum is not the place for kicking a man when he's down. I think we can be confident that having to ride a bike to do the school run, uphill in winter, will ensure that Cheeky Bob won't get himself in that position again.
Fortunately there is some good advice above in between the outbursts of Schadenfreude, which I hope he'll find useful....
I will be parting company with the Corsa at some point in the new year and I am considering the following
Skoda Fabia 2015 on, the Citroen C3 from 2014 - 16 in either petrol or diesel as my annual mileage is around 18-20,000 per annum... Read more
Someone I know has something approaching 400,000 miles in a Fabia petrol so that tells you a lot.
Knew they were reliable!, I'll have a chat with our local agents in Durham in the next couple of weeks...

First of all, I'm sorry about my English, I'm very new in the UK and my English level is intermediate.... Read more
you want a facelift T25 which came in mid-2006 (you can tell by e.g. indicator repeaters in the mirrors rather than on the wings), 2007 or 2008.
The replacement new model T27 Avensis came out in 2009.

Intrigued what impact this will have on used diesel car prices e.g. Euro 6 ?
So what happens now? Do the Euro NCAP results carry any weight with national health and safety legislation. Fiat say they comply with all safety regulations. Or is this a case of "buyer be aware" Read more
For most of my 60 years of driving, Austin A30. A35, Morris 1000, Ford Anglia Escorts and even early Astras, which would probably score negative numbers in crash safety tests, I am still alive and healthy. Safe driving will keep alive and well far more than any safety features fitted to a car. If you don't crash you won't get injured. Cars are so safe now that a few drivers do stupid things when driving. I have never bought a car because of its safety rating, but to do what I need in the most comfortable relaxed way for me.
Beggars belief. I shudder to think what would have happened in the event of an accident, particularly those in the footwells. Should have been banned for life. Read more
When I was a teenager I played a lot of rugby. Three or four of us, depending who was available, would travel to the games in the back of my mate's older brother's Robin Reliant van. Completely unrestrained, great joy being taken by the driver in ping ponging us around the inside of the car as he negotiated roundabouts on one-and-a half wheels....
First I must say that I am not criticising the NHS since I think its a marvelous institution that we all should be immensely grateful for. What I am asking is why individual trusts/consultants appear to be interpreting the rules differently at different times.
2 years ago at my 6 monthly Glaucoma check up I was told that I had a developing Cataract in my right eye.... Read more
I wear glasses all the time, and as an alternative to clip-ons, I've found that overglasses work very well - just slip them on over your glasses. Mine are made by Duco - under £20 from Amazon.
I bought a couple of pairs of fit overs about 10 years ago. I was diagnosed with dry eye and found that after driving the Caterham I would suffer discomfort for a couple of days. Bought 2 pairs from our local garden centre, £12 a pair. one was the yellow night vision type (for when I was out at night - not very often but they were actually great on dull days) and the other a grey tint for normal weather. Both had UVA and UVB and good distortion free lenses. Worked a treat in the car, no more sore eyes, but when out walking I found the large frames to be quite distracting and they made photography using the viewfinder impossible....
Hello all , thought I should turn to a forum and communicate with a human as I am getting website weary . Ideally , I would ( or wifey would ) like a DSG version of the above Golf Match but I am not sure if the DSG problems were ironed out during 2012 . So advice here would be great. I did note that this model had a timing chain but there were problems here I gather . Pending a test drive , I might even opt for the GT version if standard 1.4 feels under powered . I am a bit restricted in my choice as my garage was built in the 1960's so anything bigger than a Golf MK 6 is out .
Mostly, the car will be used for local journeys but with once a fortnight longer journeys of 140 miles across Devon and Dorset which will include Motorway , A and B roads . I did try out a Toyota Yaris Hybrid but it seemed under powered and the general design needed a bit more love . So , I suppose I am suckered into the VW design, for now at least . But, if the above listed faults are common then it is time to move on . Ah , I forgot I did want a 2.0 diesel golf with DSG as I had one before - loved it . But diesel is now the new bad boy and will I think , eventually be targeted by local councils via extra parking charges - an easy one to implement here . ... Read more

The 2 mm isn't a problem here
If you really want to you can fit 2mm spacers or shims.

I assume the code worked OK. Thanks for getting back to us.
