I have high blood pressure, an ectopic heartbeat, and no wish to end up like my nephew, who leaves 3 kids, the youngest is 11 years old. Council, Police and Landlord don't give a fig. (and in his case certainly didn't.) The perpetrator has pleaded not guilty m'lud.

Clocking up over 20k pa in an A4 Allroad, I had the bright idea of saving some money and buying a second small car for the daily commute (3 x 40 minute journeys per day), and keeping the Audi for long journeys/snow and ice (I live in rural Aberdeenshire) thus saving on running costs and prolonging its life before replacement (currently approx 85k on the clock).
So looking for small/medium car (manual if possible)... Read more

P1278 . P0402 one was for egr valve but he has cleaned it . The other 2 code refered to swirl flap problem .can you just blank the flaps and do this need mapping out as I have seen the flap replacement kit but just wondered if it has to be mapped out afterwards thanks Read more

Well done. I do hope the Niro will be all that you want it to be.
One of the reasons I post here is to correct wrong information. The channel in the brake pad is nothing to do with dispersing dust, or the absurd suggestion of dispersing gas. As the brittle pads have got larger ( the ones for my TR7 are not much bigger than a bath plug) they are more prone to stress fracture. The channel helps to prevent this.
Back in my youth you would have no brakes after washing the car. I think the last car I exprienced that on would be a Mk 2 Escort, ever since then never an issue, no bum clenching moments as you pull off the drive.

KIAs and Hyundais are considered to be very reliable (they are) but clutches are not known to be that long lasting in them - some models (i10 etc) suffer from slightly high than expected clutch wear, so no, I wouldn't be worried and would consider a new clutch a bonus at that mileage.

Hi bit of a weird one, recently the EML light has been flickering on and off, done the Vauxhall pedal trick and had the diagnostics done with flagged up the EGR valve.
The service agent suggested trying the Terraclean, which improved everything, and extra 5mpg!. everything was ok until the light came back during the hot summer, again the diagnostics flagged up the EGR, decided to change it at the next service.... Read more
I have a 65 plate, 25k miles S3 and wonder if anyone has experienced the same problem.
Periodically, there is a noise from the rear when braking which sound as though you are driving over painted lines across the road. It does not happen all the time and the Dealer has looked at it twice and declared "No fault found"... Read more
Thanks for the advice. The ABS sounds a possibility and I will contact Audi as suggested.
I suspect the problem is that some people are brought up on junk food, and acquire a taste for it, as it provides instant gratification. Unfortunately food companies seem to get away with murder in their adverts. It’s not so surprising as sugar, fat and starch are cheap ingredients. The profit on coke must be enormous. We get free cans of pop at work. There are some Irn Bru cans. I tried one, it was vile. I can’t say I like coke either. Tap water chilled in the fridge does me.
