You requested views, so...your overall summary, deals with the Jimny, being shortlisted as a small crossover, in the same class as eg Captur, Juke, Ecosport...but they are not in the same sector as this car. Jimny appeals to those who already have/had one/several, eg those living in rural areas, those with unmade roads with winter conditions to consider, both these as PRIMARY buying considerations, not as with the above cars, which would by and large not be as suitable as Jimny.

Those folks who buy for the ladder frame chassis and other aligned attributes, know what they will be getting and are not looking for the qualities that Captur, Juke would give them, above the primary reasons aforementioned.

Price is being suggested beginning at £16K!. I read that a few weeks ago, there were 250c left in the UK. Those who want/need the Jimny for the above reasons and more, will be hot footing it down to their (not so) local dealership and begging for one of the previous...if there are any left.

There will be a healthy sellers market for any late plate/low mileage previous gen cars and perhaps for any decent condition 90's car also.

I feel that you have compared new Jimny to cars that certainly do not themselves ask for comparison to Jimny. Not many direct competitors, except perhaps Panda 4x4, which itself is way overpriced new...shame Suzuki could not recall this £16K start price and offer it for less, as with Swift Sport, when they realised their mistake with that...perhaps they will...

Test Jimny for what it does offer to those few who want/need it and it will, pricing apart, show a very different slant on this very decent car.

I’ve recently been involved in an incident where A dog ran out in front of my car and I hit it. The dog was injured but not seriously, so it had to be treated at the vets. I am not at fault, however the dogs owner is trying to go through my car insurance to pay for vet bills. I have a lot going on in my life at the moment so I don’t have time to deal with any insurance claims, and the dog owner has agreed that if I pay £60 he will drop the claim. I was wondering if I paid the £60 whether there would be anything stopping him from taking it further and carrying on with the claim? Even if I had proof of the transaction and proof of his messages saying that he would accept the money.

I've recently embarked on putting a £200 non refundable deposit down on a car, I agreed verbally with the dealer that I'd purchase subject to him getting some detailing done on the car, I'm a little worried that he won't get the work completed as he tried to TCut some of the marks out there and then despite me saying it needed a smart repair. There is also a few other niggles I'm concerned with, namely it's advertised as having self parking and front parking sensors and I'm pretty sure that it hasn't got either, now I could see past this as he may have ticked a few too many boxes on the autotrader website but their own website also lists these options and isn't a dealer autotrader site.

I'm planning on inspecting the car the day before I collect and chop my old car in but I've not told the dealer this yet.... Read more

Bushes £12 a pair but it looks like the subframe has to come out to get to the mounting bolts.
