What is the capacity of the battery in KWh ? The capacity in Ah doesn't have any meaning without knowing it's voltage !!

Since the demonstrations, riots and civil protests generated by the Gilet Jaunes protesters in late 2018 and ongoing in 2019, about 60% of french fixed speed cameras are out of action, vandalised, cremated, covered up, blown up, shot up by the hunters etc.

Amazingly, remembering the "speed kills" mantra - the figures for killed and seriously injured accidents have gone down since this occurred. A lot of the cameras were able to record speeds but not to record number plates. The speeds have gone up but the accidents have gone down....

Hi,

Had someone to replace pads and discs all around today. Have noticed when the ignition is on and I press the brake pedal that there is a noise which sounds exactly like a bicycle pump coming from the passenger side front footwell. Only happens when I press the brake down. Not hvingg an idea about cars....any ideas? Read more

I didn't realise I could do that but now I know I can, that's exactly what I shall do!

I have to agree with the way the police are going about getting drivers to obey the law, it’s been on the statute books since 2006 for goodness sake.
An intensive campaign should be re-run on all media again, similar to “clunk click for every trip”, that went on ad nuaseam, but it did the trick.
Some more of those dramatic videos showing the effects of not being attentive to your driving.
Never mind the poor sensitive darlings of the PC brigade, who got so upset because there was blood and realism in them, if this is what grabs the population’s attention then sobeit, it can only be a good thing. Read more

Hi my daughter has a Citroen xsara picasso 1600 16 valve engine its done about 100.000 miles and she say that in top gear it feels like it's revving and needs another gear but obviously not got one it has had new plugs and coilpack in the past could it be a stepper motor or throttle body need cleaning or what else thanks Read more

RichardW

One of the omissions from the Xsara Picasso is a rev counter....

If it wasn't doing it before, then something has changed and the clutch is the obvious candidate - although perhaps it is just a noisy wheel bearing which only becomes apparent at higher speeds, and therefore appears to be top gear.

Hi... I'm new the forum (although my Dad has been using for years, and loves it!), and I'm after some advice / tips for options for sat nav and blue tooth (or just blue tooth) for a car I have just bought - a 2009 BMW 520d, which doesn't have these at the moment. I'm really not very tech-savvy!

The car doesn't have satnav or blue tooth (although does have the buttons). It does have an aux input and a cigar lighter and BMW single cd player. What I want to do is to be able to either Bluetooth connect, or even plug in my phone to the car to enable me to make phone calls. It would also be good to be able to access sat nav and my music library etc. Does nay one know my options and ideas of costs for these things? I think I can get BMW parts to add these, but have a feeling it would work out really expensive for a £6k car? I have seen there are screen / stereo type options I can buy from Halfords etc, that seem to do these sort of things I'm after, but where would they go in the car? Would I still be able to use the BMW control buttons (either on the steering wheel or the controls next to the handbrake?) and would I still be able to see the servicing info etc that is currently displayed on the screen?... Listening to the noise the car made on the clip, it reminded me of what an old Subaru (pre-permanent 4wd) would sound like if you tried to rurn sharply on anything other than a slippery surface. Because all 4 wheels were trying to turn at the same speed it was highly inadvisable (it could knacker the trransmission), but that did not stop some trying it.

"supermarkets have announced plans to slash the cost of petrol by 2p-per-litre" A whole 2 pence! Your idea of slashing prices and mine is entirely different. Read more

Engineer Andy

I quite agree that 2p off a lite isn't a 'slash' but a tiny cut. This sort of thing happens all the time - prices go up and down by a similar amount, due to fluctuations in oil prices and promotions by supermarkets.

Stop putting sensational, untrue headlines that could easily be taken as clickbait. You're better than this, HJ contributors.

Reliable 'net "column inches", re DCT for this car in 2019. Not everyone want to/can drive with a manual gearbox and this would address that issue, as well as showing Ford the way regarding the upcoming ST, which had no auto option last time. May dip 0-60 time, to begin with a 5. Read more
