Re banning of diesel vehicles. I was on a bus in central london near the barbican centre and saw a sign which on a quick read said no petrol, diesel or hybrid vehicles allowed. Do you have any more information on this?

I hesitate to say Which is unbiased when it comes to cars. A few years ago all their 'best buy' cars were diesel, and when you consider the likely useage of the average Which user???
Even in their latest survey they continue giveing the EU test figures for MPG, and make no mention that its only EU mandated test figures that maker are allowed to use, but at the same time berating makers that "their MPG figures" dont stack up. Read more
PR is dead right about the vulnerability of Mercedes big rims. I had two C Class AMG Coupes, both on 18" ones, and until a year ago, an AMG E Class on 19"s. The alloy rims protruded beyond the rubber on all three,so no protection at all. I had the rims re-furbed so often, that I was on first name terms with my local alloys repair man. A quite ridiculous piece of bad MB design, though in almost all other respects, the cars were great.
Have you considered approaching FCA to enquire if you can be part of the sign off process?. You would be in a position to drive the pre-production cars, point out the areas that you highlighted on this piece needing attention/improvement and give FCA objective, unbiased opinion, that if not put to good use, would completely vindicate your future road tests.
If your objectivity was of the highest order and integrity, this method of pre road testing, would be invaluable to all manufacturers, whose own staff, it could be argued, are too close to their own employers product, to be wholly objective. Read more
I love your videos, informative and entertaining - keep it up
Just on the provided pics, this looks as if it's the first mass produced "estate" to be considered attractive, since the Audi Avant B7 (2005-08). Any other contenders?. Read more
Looks nice, better than its i30 brother, and I'm especially pleased to see the 1.6 t-GDi engine in the lineup as well as the 1.4 - that's the one I was hoping for in the i30 Fastback but it didn't appear. Hopefully the suspenion in the Proceed won't be harsh like it currently is in the i30 Fastback.
Well done KIA.
Hi - need a new family car (baby due early next year). Car will mainly be used for urban driving with the occasional excursion further afield. Storage wise, just need something to chuck a chid buggy and associated paraphernalia in.
Test drove a few cars and my wife really likes the Kia Niro Hybrid (Version 3 - 16 inch wheels). I thought the Skoda Octavia 1.0 TSI would be better though. ... Read more
The pair of cars the OP has mentioned, has peaked my interest here, as they are so different from each other. So i have done a little reading on both and discovered some interesting (at least to a nerd like me!) nuggets of info.
The first is regarding the Octavia's weight, or in this case, lack of. Given the size of the Octavia, i find it remarkable that it tips the scales at just 1150kg!. It certainly explains the performance figures being somewhat sprightlier than you might expect from a car that size packing a 1.0 turbo triple, with 60mph coming up in 9.6 seconds (figures from online 'Car' review of 11/5/17). Of course the down side of this is with a full compliment of passengers and luggage, the percentage difference in power to weight ratio is going to be very noticable!. I also must point out, that i really am not a fan of the current Octavia's front end styling!, though obviously this is entirely down to personal opinion. ...
Don't bother coming on here much these days, too much SPAM.
But these types of post take it over the limit. Suggesting they are "real" documents is simply fraudulant. Thus I have forwarded a link to this post to the police hoping they will get some action taken to remove them. The forum does not seem to bother. Read more
Many thanks FP. Thunderbird, don’t be so ridiculous. I check the forum almost every day and promptly remove any spam. Nobody looking in will believe this rubbish so it is quite harmless.
It takes longer replying to whingers than it does to remove spam.
Police have no record of this?
