After 25 years of driving diesels I have finally done the unmentionable, yes put petrol in my tank without realising I'd done it untill the day after! Drove 145 miles without a problem except that I sensed it wasn't quite right, because every now and then I felt a very minor 'jink', though the beast ran very well. What it wouldn't do is start when hot; a well known syptom apparantly. I estimate the ratio was approx 50/50 when starting out. Having established from my receipt that I'd misfueled I was tempted to top up and carry on and fairly sure I may have got away with it. However, played safe and got it dained etc for £150. You can't be to sure can you. Read more
I wouldn't worry about it too much, they use petrol (gasoline) to thin the diesel out in the parts of USA that get extreme cold during winter. Add some two synthetic 2 stroke- oil, about 2% for about a couple of tankfuls, it doesn't make ash when it is burnt, lubricates the high pressure pump and injectors.
With more people now using dash cams for peace of mind in case of an accident there are a certain element of idiots abusing this useful technology by going out and looking to cause trouble on the roads and then uploading the footage to social media for their own personal gratification. In particular they seem to enjoy targeting drivers of German saloon cars and other luxury cars and in general are causing more driver aggression on the roads than ever. What are your thoughts on this issue? Personally I think that dash cams should be banned like they are in many other countries. Read more

No idea what that means!'...
Informed they are working on a new 1.5 petrol turbo that should make its way into most of the UK line up by the end of 2019.
A new 1.2 turbo petrol is also under going testing and will be used from 2019 in the new facelift Tivoli
As for the new Musso, that’s a hell of a lot of car and warranty for the money Read more
Around a year ago I tried a Tivoli on a deal where they offered a £10 m&s voucher. I took test drive but never got the voucher = poor customer service.I didn't rate the Tivoli at all. It was a lot less pleasant to drive than my 08 mondeo tdci.
And Honda make the same mistake again, small petrol power, no turbo!! why not release the turbo petrol at the same time as the launch vehicle. I know it put me off last year, when looking for a suitable small SUV.
lots of manufacturers seem to be doing these half-assed launches, with part of the engine or model line up available, and wonder why sales aren't great -- usually down to the engine and gearbox option that customers want, not being available for 6-12 months after it goes on sale. Read more
Should have released the Diesel engine first ??

Sounds perfectly plausible.
Hi - just got a 1999 1.3 16V Charade (HCE engine) & need a little help. There is a thin black pipe which comes from a grey, cannister type component low down at the rear, right hand side of the engine compartment. This pipe runs up the air filter housing then just ends. Is it supposed to be connected or is it just a breather? I only ask because the tickover seems quite high - 1500-1700 rpm at first & dropping to 900-950 when warmed up (about 8-10 mins) and there may be a connection. Any help appreciated... Read more
Point taken - I've learn from past mistakes than some things are best left alone! I guess I just can't help being curious if things dont look right...
OK, not a big problem, but annoying, and one that the dealer can't fix.
First of all, just a reminder that this is an Austrian registered car, because that's where we live :-)
Last year, the car developed bluetooth connectivity problems, so the local dealer, from where we purchased the car, updated the software, which fixed the problem. Before the update, the satnav was working fine and correctly showed the current speed limit wherever I was driving. It even picked up within a couple of days that a new 30kph limit had been introduced in our village outside the school. Since the update, it no longer shows speeds limits in random, but consistent, areas. I can't be sure either, that it's showing correct limits when it does display them, as there are a few places locally where the limits have been changed, and it still shows the old ones. The 2018 software update has been applied, and the maps are up to date. Clearly, I realise it's up to me to be observant and be aware of the speed limits when I'm driving, but this problem is beginning to bug me, particularly as everything was OK before the initial software update.
Has anyone else had this problem?

The Civic has the same but works a treat, and as the the display is next to the speedo you cannot miss it, only time it hasn`t worked is when a tree/bush has overgrown in front of the sign blocking it....
Mine doesn't have a camera, it picks up the limit from the satnav data I assume....

No it doesn't have that facility.
Just a Sports mode....
Can't quite see how an air lock causes hot water to come out of the cold taps. Cold taps are generally mains connected and under pressure, hot is usually static pressure (tank in loft). To rid an airpock the cold can be connected to hot to 'blow' out the air lock. Airlocks usually stop circulation rather than re-route it. A primatic cylinder is fine unless you have solid fuel. The water temperature needs to be below 100C, which will scald you, or it blows out the air bubble in the primatic which separates the water from the boiler from the water from the tank for your bath etc. A normal gas boiler will not get your water that hot unless the thermostat fails. A blown primatic is easily rectified by draining the hot water cylinder. Upon refilling the air bubble is reinstated. fabric softener will not help this situation!!!
