Look a bit further than diesels and you will find the danger of burning garden compost.
My late wife and both our neighbours died , I believe , as a result of breathing smoke from bonfires smouldering from the allotment s which adjoin our properties.

Unlike diesel fumes the Environment Health Department of our local council are powerless to restrict burning during the winter months.

Again it is the particulates of wood burning that cause the problem, and can be far more dangerous than cigarette smoking.

This is the second time this has happened. This afternoon I parked the car and went in to a house to do some work, and when i went back out to the car all four door windows were fully down. I hadnt touched the windows before I left the car - it isnt the weather to have windows down at the moment. I locked the car when I left it, so what's going on? Read more

Ive had 2 passats and both if you held down the unlock button for a certin lenght of seconds it would lower all 4 windows and the vise versa hold down the lock button and it will raise all 4 windows. Hope this helps and solves the matter

Mark 3 Mondeo did exactly the same. Useful if you left a window open....

To quote a phrase that has gone completely out of fashion, sometimes life can be a bit 'crunchy', you can't expect it to be 'soggy' all the time. For example, expecting your car to be transported 100 miles for nothing. How much should they fork out just to get your sale?

Last year i bought a 52 plate Nissan Micra with 9900 miles on the clock from a family friend.

Just recently I have noticed a rattling sound coming from the engine bay. I can't hear it when it's a cold start but it comes back when i rev it.... Read more

I am so sorry to hear, its two things. Going forward what is that you want? Are you happy to have the garage do the work?

If not as mentioned go through the small claims and find a good garage. Weigh up if it is worth repairing now or trying to find second hand parts....

An advice to others , so far our leased ( with maintenance) Mazda 2 sport has had to have brake pads(front) replaced at 7,000 miles and at 14,000 miles.
When I queried with garage who have had to contact leasing company for approval ( agreed both times) that this cant be right or indeed normal , blank faces as though I am wrong to make this statement.
Ps it was us who told garage the issue at 14,000 miles as we new identical to the issue at 7,000 miles ( loud grinding noise when breaking sharply , we were doubted in my opinion. .
First time round it was put down to town driving ( London ).
It is only after reading reviews of car that now realise that poor a/c heating cooling system is also not correct and not just quirkof car ( so booking in for check ASAP.)
We of course have been saved by leasing company paying under maintenance agreement when in fact the reporting issue for these issues is to leasing company first and they themselves should be taking it up with manufacturer. Read more

The police in my area as well other forces around the UK are asking for your DashCam footage of bad driving, texting using phones etc. Which is fair enough.

But they will only accept them if you are prepared to stand in court if prosecution did proceed.... Read more

Very handy for the powers that be for the future, they have a list of those useful to the state for monitoring of possible dissidents.

Didn't the Stazi have a similar arrangement with a network of informers?, what's next i wonder getting children in the spyingh/informing scheme, khmer rouge style.
