Hello,
i would kindly ask you to take a moment and complete this short, 10-question survey regarding consumer perception of innovation in the automotive industry.
I am using Tesla Motors as an example of disruptive innovator in my dissertation and exploring the notion that industries with high barriers to entry are unlikely to innovate in a way that would change the basis for completion in the market.
I would like to thank everyone, who took the time to read this post and/or completed the short servery.

Hi
Is there anyone who could advise as to which wire powers the central locking, I want to install a keyless fob so I don’t have to use the key to unlock the doors. Read more

You will need a keyless entry kit and have it wired into the central lock system. Not a difficult job,but may be an idea to use the services of an auto sparky.www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Car-2-Central-Remote-Keyless-En...8

Are some driver so feeble minded or ancient that they do not keep upto date with driving trends? Never seen cars where the fog light comes on driving around a bend!? Its to illuminate the corner better! Honestly, some people should be banned. Read more

"Finally what’s going on with Fog lights or maybe running lights going on and off as cars corner"

Apparently it's a feature on some cars to illuminate around the corners, not quite as clever as Citroen's DS 19, where the lights actually turned with the steering.

HJ's reply to the final question entitled 'The numbers game', gives a link to the DVLA which will simply result in a '404 Page Not Found error' due to a syntax error. Ensure the link used does not include the trailing space followed by a /.

Recent Question on HJ. Do you agree with answer?

An elderly relative has owned a car for one year of a three year purchase agreement. During this year he has been diagnosed with dementia and is not capable of driving. The car is stored off road and the keys are locked away. I am a family member, but not the registered keeper and have no financial or other responsibility for the car or the purchase agreement. The registered owner does not wish to return the car and end the purchase agreement, however, no insurer will offer cover to a dementia sufferer whose licence has not been renewed by DVLA. Is there any advice you can give me?... Read more

The finance company was obviously not and probably still isn't aware that your relative has dementia. Therefore it has nothing to fear from the mis-selling claim. Instead of threats it is usually more productive to simply approach them with the truth. A letter stating the facts and a doctors diagnosis should do the trick. They cannot be unsympathetic to a situation which probably arises more often than you imagine. I would bet that upon learning the sad circumstances of your relative they would be willing to terminate the contract. This may mean a small exit fee, but that is better than two more years of monthly payments.

Good luck. Cheers Concrete

I was bombing it down the m180 today at about 6:45 just after junction 5 for maybe a few miles, I didn’t notice any speed vans and I know closer to Sc***horpe there are camera warning signs, where are the vans usually located down this way? I don’t think I was anywhere near junction two going over the limit. Read more

Be aware that quite a number of the Gatso cameras (lines on the road, two flashes, only catch speeders going in one direction) are being replaced by new ones which operate in BOTH directions and are linked directly to the enforcement centre.

Not sure what their calibration is set to, +1 mph or 10% +2, probably depends on local enforcement policy.

My ford galaxy recently had a flywheel and clutch replaced and ever since has a had a fuel supply problem. When the fuel level reaches quarter tank the vehicle won’t start: mechanics have looked and are having big difficulty diagnosing the problem. Any idea please? Read more

Had 3 of the current shape Berlingo Multispaces in a row, I get a new one every 3/4 years.

I think its a brilliant car, excellent value for money and far better built (robust) than pretty much anything else in its price range....

These sound like the Bars leak tablets I once used on a company Rover V8 as a temporary fix for a small radiator leak - stopped the leak quiclky and effectively, just crumbleld it into the header tank.

N.B. it did however raise engine running temperature a bit so if used in a warm climate keep an eye on the temp gauge.
