Only last week I had a call which went "according to our records, you had an accident 3 years ago and may be entitled to some money" .

No I didn't, I pressed the button on my call blocking gadget so their number won't get through again....

Are there any expert opinions on the value of paying around £300 extra to have the paint guarding systems applied to a new car. The guaratee of 3 years seems to me to be meaningless. (I have no idea how you would be able to make a successful claim). The car can look highly polished initially, and is supposed to not need polishing for a long time. I do have serious doubts about the value of thiis added cost, does anyone have any comments please?

It's not Teflon. The application is made on top of the paint at factory as an optional extra. It's a formula invented by a U.S. company.

Teflon was meant to be a joke but the wink didnt work, they only use teflon in engine additives ;-)

If you're looking for comfort, think about a Volvo: they have some of the best seats in the business. The S40 / V50 /S60 are all a lot smaller than your old S-Class.

An Audi A3 or BMW 1-series will give you a feeling of luxury, but the ride tends to be firm....

This is quite hard to follow as no dates have been provided for the services or MOT. However if the third service was done at 4 years old then the service and advertised mileage are consistent. However the second service reading is ony 1k less than the third. This suggests that the second service is also recorded in km? If so I wonder if the odomoter is easily flipped km/miles and so honest mistakes have occured. I doubt the MOT station will be able to comment as why would they real one MOT among many.

If it does turn out that the likely explanation is a simple error you have lost nothing but it might still be worth seeing what you can get. An interesting tack may be to revisit what the salesman said. If they bought it in on the belief of it having a higher mileage (at a price reflecting this) then sold it at the lower true (we assume) mileage then they will have trousered a wider margin than usual. This may give room for negotiation. It might be worth saying to the dealer that you are unhappy at the mix-up and asking them to make a goodwill payment, aiming to get say £250? Or next service and MOT for free?

Hi, I have just bought a 10 mth old Ford Focus Titanium Nav with a Sony DAB radio / Sat Nav unit - all id great except that when I try to enter a postcode in the form of XX1 4XX the unit insists that I need to enter XX11 1XX it will not accept or let me enter a two letter single number code. Does anyone know how to get round this? or is there an upgrade that I need to get from my Ford dealer who sold me the car?

Thanks Read more
