This information regarding a chage in legislation should be front page on every newspaper and news bulletin.
In the event of a new buyer having an accident on the way home following purchase would the insurance company be within their rights not pay out?
In the event of the new buyer being stopped by the police,or committing a speeding offence on the way home, clearly they would in addition be compounding the offence by not having road tax in their name.

Hi I wonder if I someone could give me some sensible advice?
i recently made a mistake with a recent vehicle purchase - basically despite reviews , specs and research; upon towing my caravan for the first time, the engine struggled. I now have to sell the vehicle and buy another. ... Read more
The pound in 'pound feet' is actually pounds force, not a weight., with dimensions of mass, length and time squared. The 'ton' is a mass, with a dimension of mass only.
So the formula does not just give a distance. (My old physics teachers used to go mad if we weren't clear about the difference between pounds force and pounds mass.)
I have recieved a summons to go to court for failure to comply with insurance requirements..

Just bought a lovely Gets which runs great. Just one issue, when starting from cold it makes a cruch sound which lasts for about a second. It sounds like cars used to years ago if you turned the key too far. Only happens on a cold start. Car starts up fine with no hesitation at all and runs and drives like new. It is fitted with a more powerful battery, don't know if that makes a difference. Cars only done 21k with FSH so its probably done a lot of short journeys.

Turns out its ring gear problem. Garage fitted a new starter motor today and the problem is now much worse. They quoted £650 to fix and won't give me the original starter motor back unless I pay a £61 surcharge. Is this normal? They charged me £135 for the motor but now say this is based on them selling the old part but when Iook online I can buy a new on from europarts for £140.00.
I have had to take the car elsewhere to get sorted and feel a bit stitched up really. The car started fine when they started work on it, yes it had a noise to i...
I'm researching buying my next used car (10 years old) and am interested in the range of small turbo diesel engines about such as the Yaris, Clio, Fiesta, Corsa, Astra etc.

Hello, this is my first time posting here.
I own a Renault Scenic Dynamique 2007 model and have had it for almost a year. I have recently experienced a loss of power and then the fuel injection warning light appeared right after. It eventually dissappeared and never reappeared by I feel the car still had no power especially going up hill. I sent it back to the Renault dealership as my car was bought from them just under a year ago and the used car warranty was still just valid.... Read more
I don't see that you have any alternative but to let them do the analysis for £180 and take it from there.
In terms of your warranty covering other parts which may have failed, who knows if you don't? You should have asked for full details of what the warranty covered when the car was purchased. Was it a Renault Approved Used warranty?...
before buying a CLC i tried about 10 of these cars, diesel, petrol, sport etc. and eventually went for a CLC200 Kompressor 2011 reg. which i'm delighted with. when test driving all cars had steering which pulled to left. various MB dealers said it was a known detail and was to do with "high speed" steering accuracy or some such bull...t. whatever the truth every car had this ?problem. any comments from forum or honest john. I don't know if you have googled this but there seem to be a few threads (Mercedes based) on this elsewhere. No concensus on reason/solution but some recommend getting realignment. Others say its a charactristic.
Interesting view here that its due to our poor roads being beyond the adjustment parameters of MB -...

No new Astra tourer on the list? Lovely car to drive, more reliable than those German models (including VW acquired makes) and cheapest of all the one's listed. Shame.

Transfer dates and procedures are exactly the same as before - they are down to the day, not the hour. This hasn't changed at all. The existing tax is cancelled from the day which is written on the V5 - so, if the date of sale/transfer on the V5 is the 21st and the new keeper doesn't tax it until the 26th the system will eventually see a gap and may send a penalty. It is really pretty easy to tax a car online using the new keeper's supplement. This article has simply got it's facts wrong and is over a year out of date about taxing requirements with regards to proof of insurance.
