I only seem to have a bleed nipple on the RHS rear wheel.

I'm assuming this is unusual, but I havn't bled many cars (and those a long time ago) so I don't have experience of a large range of models.... Read more

Can't get Copaslip here.

I've used aluminium foil and a rub with an old tyre weight as alternative improvisations(combined with grease) in the past, but didn't have either handy.at the time....

I have to agree that 3M are somewhat responsible as they had directed the OP to this retailer of their product.

I had a similar situation some years ago when a dealership told me that a certain bodyshop was manufacturer approved, It wasn't and they did a very poor job along with trying to defraud my insurance company. I took out a claim against both of them via small claims court and they were both found to be guilty....

Nothing remotely interesting in the top ten. Just shows that following the herd ends in disappointment. Read more

I bought a 2013 Focus ST2 last October from a dealership.

Over the last few months I started getting a problem. The engine would stall as the car slowed for RABs or traffic lights etc. As I dipped the clutch the revs would drop below 1000 to 500 then to 0. The engine would cut out. An intermittent problem. I use top grade fuels, so it wasn't that.

I looked at Honest John car reviews that said there was a problem with this model stalling. I did a search on internet and found pages of complaining owners with the same problem. So I booked my car in with a dealership under warranty. They said that they had never heard of the issue but carried out road tests and diagnostics, Nothing flagged up.

The stalling continued, with one episode it stalled 3 times in 5 minutes. So I took it to another Ford garage. They also said they had never heard of it and that I was the first owner to bring an ST in with the problem. Again road tests and diagnostics couldn't identify a problem. So I was sent on my way. The car has only covered 2000 miles.

By now I was getting frustrated. No-one was listening to me, I looked up HJ again and he said that a TSB had been released in the US and Canada regarding the issue. Also from the end of September Ford US and Canada are recalling all 2013/14 STs, approx. 169,000, to fix the problem as a safety issue. The problem is the way the wiring is spliced in the engine bay.

So I wrote to the head of Ford UK and sent an email to the dealership with my views on the matter.

Between the two, they had me bring my car in today 24.09.14. The service manager there said they had looked up "Google" and saw the problem on different forums both here and the US. They also had advice from Ford technical that the problem exists and how to deal with it.
Apparently Ford UK issued a TSB on the 3rd September about the issue but the dealership had not been made aware. So I felt vindicated, as I was being treated as a liar.

They fixed the wiring problem today so I'll keep an eye on it.

It doesn't appear there is to be a recall over the issue, but if anyone on here that has experienced stalling, it may not be the way you are driving or bad fuel. Challenge your dealership, and if you require me to provide a reference, I would be more than willing. Don't stand for flim flam. They just don't want to pay out for and hour and a half's work. Diagnostics wont highlight the problem.

And it is a safety issue. Stalling on a roundabout or across a junction might prove a bit dangerous. Especially if the other driver isn't paying attention.

Hello, I have 2 horns to remove/replace , they are behind the front grills . I have removed one of them off the bracket but the electrical connectors look quite corroded onto the horn connections, therefor making it difficult to remove them as it is not possible to see how they were connected originally. There does not appear to be a threaded small screw on top , I have pictures if anyone has any knowledge on this subject , thanks for reading. Brian. Read more

Ford mondeo ghia x 2.5 v6 - Help car cuts out when tank still a third full - avfc
When my tank reaches approx a third full, with 130 miles range showing on the computer, it has started to kick back or worse cut out, particularly in 5th gear, cruising at 70mph, has happened 4 times and been a real pain to re start on 2 occasions leaving me stuck on a dual carriageway. I'm currently re filling when half full, but not ideal for longer runs. Any ideas or advice greatly appreciated.

It runs like dream when there is plenty in the tank.

Railroad.

Thanks for the help, that sounds a b**** of a job

It may not be. Often the fuel pump and tank unit are accessible by removing the rear seat. Also it's possible that you may have less fuel in the tank than you think. How much does it take to fill from the point the engine cuts out? And what is the capacity of the tank? The fuel gauge reading may be incorrect. In any case though all fuel injection car fuel tanks have a swirl pot inside. It's there to serve a purpose, and fuel must return to the swirl pot rather than just into the tank. If it isn't then the swirl pot will be empty and fuel will not be drawn. If you have one, connect an ammeter to the fuel pump circuit to monitor how much current the pump is drawing. It should typically be around 5-6 amps. If it drops down it means that the pump is under less load, indicating that it isn't picking up fuel. That should help you to determine if the problem is inside the tank.

Although I read reviews etc I would welcome the opinions of forum users.

The cups/mugs in particular are coming out of the dishwater not particularly clean. I am not aware of much than could go wrong with the machine - other than the motor failing. Would a change of tablet peerhaps help ? Has anyone experienced this and, if so, has a particular brand been an improvement ? Thanks Read more

We use dishwasher powder, not tablets, which means you can vary the amount according to the dishwasher load and you are not restricted to using one tablet per wash.
