We got this skoda in to-day that was'nt starting because starter was'nt working. After replacing starter motor we found that starter was staying engaged with engine running. Theres a 12v feed to starter solenoid at key on. Causing the 1st starter to burn out. Has any 1 any thoughts on this or encountered a similar problem Any feedback greatly accepted Regards micky-Bo Read more
Last night I found a tip of a screw driving sticking within the tyre(the tip was side by side) by the outer layer of the tyre. I checked this morning and the tyre seems to be the same also I done a bubble test and no air.

Its hard to see the tyre with your drawing over it but if it isn't losing air - it isn't punctured. I really wouldn't worry about it.
Hi, I'd quite like one of these but the following issues in HJ review really worrying. How widespread are these issues and how disasterous (costly) if they occur? ( I have googled electrical issues and not found much info...) Thanks!

Hey, I have had a few threads on the forum due to my non starting dodge nitro. Picked the vehicle up yesterday from the specialist as they could not find any faults. Today I have stripped it down, timing is spot on so no issues there however, after taking the injectors out to remove the head (due to specialists finding the tips of two glow plugs which had burnt/melted away), all 4 injector nozzles have melted, I have removed the head all the bores and pistons look good along with all valves, rocker arms, cams etc.. It looks like it has risen to a very high temperature. I'm not sure whether it has run on it's own oil, turbo seems to be ok no excessive play, a little oil residue in the turbo pipe but nothing more than I've seen on other cars, I cannot see how turbo has gone at 39k. Other thought is maybe it has been filled up with petrol hence the contaminated fuel light staying on with ignition for a good while? Or head gasket, cracked cylinder = water in the cylinders causing steam? Or has something caused the injectors to be stuck open?
I would like to find the cause if I can to save it happening again!
All suggestions appreciated Read more
I park my 2011 1.7D Premium ix35 reversed onto my sloping drive, SOMETIMES (no pattern) when I start there is a terrible rattling noise for about 15 to 20 seconds. I check fluid levels regulalrly and have never needed to add oil between services.

That's an American review and the Fram filters here in the UK are much better build quality than the American Fram branded ones....
Mondeo ST220 - idle speed normally 800 revs, however during quickish use, tick-over speed can vary between 1000 - 1500 revs. Car continues to run @ this tick over rate as if on cruise control so for example, you cannot do 30 mph in 6th gear without constant braking. Temporary solution is to pull over and switch off via the key, re-start and the idle / tick over speed immediately returns to normal @ 800 revs. Any ideas on what's causing this please? Read more
