Hi John
In September I purchased on a PCP through the Lexus Finance Group a 12 month old CT200h car. The driving experience was very different however I required an automatic car that had a good mpg so a hybrid with many extras appeared to be a good solution. I felt that the compromise for its lack of speed was the price I paid for a robust car to tackle the many miles of motorway driving that I endure. So imagine my suprise just before Christmas when I went to a morning meeting at a local college and upon entering the car park and choosing a large space of 3 bays my slow lexus whilst coasting into the middle space accelerated with such force still on a turn that it clipped the vehicle to the left in front, hit the vehicle to the right and a third with such force that it shunted that into the vehicle next to it. The only good point to this accident is that all other vehicles were empty and no one was injured, however I will not drive or trust this car again or want it to go back on the road for anyone else to suffer this problem as next time it may not be only metal that is injured. I would like to know if anyone else has had a similar issue, I have had an automatic car before for over 3 years so I do know how to drive one. Secondly the group are carrying out tests therefore since the 20th December I have not had a vehicle and they are now saying they need a further 10 working days, which I feel is a form of intimidation as a car is essential to my work, do I have any rights here and I am still expected to support the financial payment? Any assistance and advice would be greatly appreciated, also I do have a copy of the CCTV footage of the accident. Kind regards Debbie Read more

I have just changed the cam belt and flexible fuel lines coming from the top of the fuel tank on my 1989 peugeot 205 gti 1.6. The car however will no longer start. I have no idea what it could be as it was running absolutely fine before I started this work!... Read more
try running it with the alternator belt off, if there is no noise then check tensioner bearings etc ifyou still have the noise then check the cam bbelt cover is fitted correctly [run it with cover off if no clear signs] if still there then must be cam belt check aligment and all bearings etc

i have a 1.4tdci and is letting in air to the fuel. i have found the problem which is a pin hole in the corrugated inlet pipe to the fuel priming bulb. i have fixed this by fusing it over witha soldering iron! drastic i know and i suspect it wont last.
i have had a price (£101) for the whole fuel line assembly (part no.1501910) which is unecessary as it is only the 6 inches or so of pipe which is required.... Read more

I have a grand Cherokee jeep crd ltd auto 2003 - 2685 cc- a few weeks ago I had the injectors replaced since then the car is very difficult to start in the morning , I have had the heater plugs changed, the relays tested ok, and a new battery, this has made no difference , in the mornings the car -which is kept outside - will take anything from between 40 & 110 seconds to start! If I turn the engine constantly, this morning I cranked the engine for 150 seconds but it didn't start and I didn't want to run the battery flat so I sprayed a very small amount of easy start into the air intake and it fired up immediately. The weird thing is once the engine has fired up, I can turn the engine off and it will them restart after any length of time immediately during that same day. But if I last used the vehicle at 1 am in the morning it will not start by 9 am the next morning . It doesn't seem to make any difference whether the car is inside or outside parked flat or on a hill, or if the weather is warm, cold, wet or dry. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated - thanks rob Read more
I have put a second-hand replacement engine into my 2003 Chrysler Voyager. The engine seems to be a good match but when I try to start it it misfires badly. It seems to be a timing issue. Suspecting it might be an incompatibility issue between the new engine and my old ECU, I contacted the engine supplier and he sent me the ECU from the car that the replacement engine came from. The ECU that he sent me was very different from the one in my car. Looking up the part number I have determined that the replacement ECU (and therefore the replacement engine) is from a Dodge Caravan, not a Voyager.
So my questions are:-... Read more
After further research I have found that my new misfiring engine is from a 2004 model. Chrysler introduced the “next generation controller” (NGC) in ’04, so there are three more notches in the cam sensor and all of the notches are in different locations. I have received advice that to get the 2004 engine to work I will need to swap the cam gear, timing chain and flex plate from my 2003 engine into the 2004 engine and retain the 2003 ECU.

Thanks for your thoughts everyone.
Mileage we will now be well under the argreed limit thus the I suspect the value will be substaintially higher (originally agreed a 70K limit over 2 years. I now believe that at the end of the two years the car will have done around half that.)...
