My NCD is protected, so that is something, I suppose.
NCD Protection is valuable but not absolute - they won't reduce your NCD but can still increase the base premium, having the same effect!
Hi, I've just had the variable speed sensor replaced as we were getting the speedo needle drop to zero problem. Had to get a mechanic to do it with a sensor I got from Ebay as I just couldn't get enough access to it at home (very impressed with someone on here who said they did it in 15 minutes!)
All looked fine when using the car at low speed, but yesterday I got up to about 70mph and looked down to find the speedo needle swinging all over the place. For a while it stabilised at 135, but most of the time it was swinging around, not even really centred over the rough speed I was doing. Didn't calm down when I was on slower roads either.... We have a problem with a lack of power when the engine is cold. It will not rev over 2000 rpm & occasionally 3000 rpm & has with very little power (no misfire or rough running) When the engine warms up (approx 2 mile ish) all the power kicks in. Not good fun on wet/greasy roads or in traffic. Its done just ovr 60,000 miles & has a non dealer service history. Grateful for any advice. Read more
Thanks, will keep everyone posted. Probably after crimbo now due to a lack of spends.
Sometimes the ABS light comes on and stays on, sometimes it comes after I've been drving for a bit, sometimes it comes on and then goes off the next time i start up. Once i had a stiff brake pedal and other times the car inches forwards when I break. But mostly it brakes OK. Just a little unnerving! Read more
..or it could be a poor connection on one of the sensor lead plugs.
Hi. Seen lots of posts concerning eac faults on fiesta 1.4tdci. I had the same issue and my car would not idle. It would misfire and an eac fail warning would come up. I had a friend pump the primer while it was left to idle and it continued to run until he stopped pumping the primer. I popped the primer out if the bracket and allowed the primer to follow a less restricted routing as the pipes seemingly were kinked. In no time the car was able to idle without pumping the primer. I then disconnected all injectors and the main round connection to the rear of the engine which supplies the injectors with power. I then sprayed them all with wd40 and re-fitted them. Since then, it is running like a watch with no eac fault at all. Although the eac fault can be triggered by a faulty throttle pedal, poor connections can cause havoc so before spending on injectors, pumps and expensive Ford dealer diagnostics, do what I did and see if it makes a difference before going down the expensive route. Hope this helps. Read more

Once again I feel cynicism rearing its head.
A thread that has been dead for well over a year suddenly gets a plug for a particular product.

That's good to know.
FWIW I never subject mine to stress in fact I can't really justify owning such a nice car as it's sat in the garage half the time so I really don't do it any kind of justice at all. I am still toying with selling whilst it's value is still high and just buying a little runabout but I always had an aspiration to own a BMW and am really struggling letting it go. ...

The time WILL come when the driving test and ongoing competence will be a significant issue and will have to be resolved. Just because you pass the test at 18 doesn't mean to say you can drive safely and competently at 65 never mind 75 yrs old.
The use of the black box recording system may be (and now is being used) used to monitor your behaviour and eventually you may be considered no longer competent or safe to drive.
We can all avoid traffic by staying at home and let the Bulgarians and other wonderful immigrants run the country. Problem solved.
