In the past I have bought pattern parts for my previous cars like a Rover 820, Ford Escort, Ford Focus.
Are there pattern parts available for a 2007 Jaguar X type and S type or would I need to buy parts from a Jaguar garage? Read more
Thanks for the replies.
It seems that spares are easier to get for the X type than the S type.
Approximately 500 miles ago I discovered a rubbing noise coming from the offside front of the vehicle when in motion. This can also be felt as a dull vibration through the steering wheel and throttle pedal. This vibration increases in frequency as the speed increases, and increases in severity and volume when turning right during driving or braking.
I have likened this noise and feel to a slighly buckled wheel or a warped brake disc but the discs and pads have just been renewed and the noise appeared during a long drive.... Read more
It ended up being the two front wheel bearings. I changed the o/s/f bearing and the noise was still noticeable so changed the n/s/f and that has now cured the problem.
Deja vu....
This year saw the release of Renaults latest electric car, the Zoe. While some people are put off from electric cars by their lack of versatility and their cost, the Zoe seemed to tackle this problem, retailing at £13,995 (not a bad price for a new 2013 car) as well as having great practicality and performance.
The Zoe also saw extensive social media and press coverage, earning some great reviews in the process.... Read more

We have a nearly new mini cooper d ('62 plate) which had 3,557 miles when purchased 8 months ago. this has now done 6,522 miles and the clutch has completely disintegrated.
Mini now want to charge us £2,200 with no contribution from them .....surely this cant be right ?? Read more
Hi,
If the clutch has failed due to a manufacturing fault then it is a warranty issue. If the clutch is slipping then it may be due to the way its driven. The only way this can be ascertained is to have the clutch removed. You can insist that an engineer examines the failed parts and you could engage the services of an engineering firm to establish the reason for the failure. It is not fair for them to just dismiss this as not warranty - they have to have just cause and they have to prove it is 'wear and tear' which rightly so is not warranty. Yours has disitegrated which implies not wear and tear...
I'm sick of having an incompetant car to drive for the winter months and with our winter in the UK being pretty long, I'm now looking for a car which is more adapted to cold, snowy and icy conditions.
It would be nice to hear some opinions of yours. Can anyone suggest a top car from personal experience? I have been looking around and found a few lists but I'm still not quite sure. All help welcome.... Read more
This car is not a proper 4wd.
This sort of cheapo afterthought '4WD'
Very few 4x4's on the market today are what you are calling a "genuine 4x4". This is the type of vehicle most of the public buy when they want a car that will garantee that they can get the kids to school between the months of April and October. They are pointless when it snows because they close the schools....
When driving i get a sort of rattle from the front end its not the engine as no rattle when just reving the engine it is allways at the same revs in each gear which is about 40 in 4th and 50 in 5th (unlucky on the island) no air leaks cant find anything wrong with turbo Maybe gearbox or clutch any idears ??? It's probably been sorted by now but have you got the little Ford 3"hub caps? They rattle like mad and only need a spot of mastic or similar to cure.
