VW Audi Service Schedules now quote two different Timing Belt intervals for each car. In the case of my A5 2.0 TDi the interval is 120,000 miles if the vehicle is designated as 'fleet' i.e. if VW Financial Services are contracted to pay for the maintenance, or only 75,000 miles if it is designated as 'retail' i.e. if you or I are paying dealer for the work.

Hi,

You can try and clean the map senser this has a big part to play with the low down power of this engine if its bloked up with gunk it will not work .
You can clean with brake clean or carb clean or wd40 and blow out any stuff in the hole .allso you will need to clean the maf senser this locted in the air box tubeing this senser controls fuel mix and turbo boost if this is bad you get no turboost when pulling off from stop but when rev's are over 2100 rpm you get all the power this make stop start driveing s*** only clean this with a maf senser cleaner or you may damage the senser.
Next you should change fuel filter with an oe fiat filter and if you still have the same problem the fuel rail senser may be at fult this is on the end of the fuel rail
Push on connecter get it tested as a new one may cost a lot
Good luck j.
Hello all,
Yesterday I saw an advert for wynns egr valve cleaner. 10 pounds a tin and apparently amazing results. I just wondered if anyone on this forum has had any experience of this product? Read more
Well as for how well it cleaned the egr valve. I can't give any definitive answer. What I can say is that the car drove better after using that spray.
I am thinking of buying a late Saab 9-3 diesel 2007 onwards, can anyone give their experience of this model?
Also does anyone know what engine is under the hood? Read more
Not the best car to drive, but very realible. we have both 2.0t 210 and 1.9 150 bhp. very quick, good built quality and value for money. we got out at 100k and have done 50k with no problems just service. I have seen some with over 200k
A few months ago I got the DMF and Clutch replaced on my 2009 Focus 1.8 TDCi, 135,000 miles. Soon afterwards, I noticed that when changing from 1st to 2nd gear, there is an audible 'clunk' when I lifting the clutch up (as I take my foot off it). It is the same however slowly and carefully I change gear. Can't hear it when doing any other gear changes.
Do you think it might be a gearbox problem, as its only when changing to 2nd gear? I didn't notice it before having the DMF and clutch changed. It has been the same for several months now although I only use the car say a couple of times a week.... Read more
Hi, this sounds exactly like my problem. A clonk when changing to 2nd gear when starting off at about 10 mph. Just once after starting the engine. You say it’s the abs doing some sort of test. What can be done to rectify the problem?
This morning i set off for work like normal and instantly noticed a strange hooting noise coming from the engine. There was no difference in performance of the engine and no lights came on the dash to suggest a problem so i carried on as normal.
After around 15 miles the hooting became louder and the engine seemed sluggish and quite jerky. I instantly pulled off the motorway and pulled over. The car was throwing out white smoke out of the exhaust and the inside of the car also filled with smoke. It stunk of oil.
Does anyone know what this could be? Could the engine need oil or is it something worse? No warning lights came on so i am slightly baffled.

I went to two dealerships. The first was a smaller dealership and it just gave me bad vibes. The dealer name is very amateurish, a very young salesman greeted me, he was well versed in the patter learned at training school, but no idea how to judge his customer before going into the BS. His first approach was all about monthly budget and finance, not about the cars I was actually interested in, which as a first visit was i10, i20 and possibly an ix20 ( discounted due to cost and availability).
The car in the showroom didn't have a battery, so the boot couldn't be opened. I'm still waiting for the call to view a car, but too late now. TBH it all felt a bit amateurish.
Second is part of a huge chain which I bought a car from many years ago. A list of cars was provided and a deal was done within half an hour, subject to seeing the actual car as being a large chain the cars aren't held on site. The problem with bumper was inconvenient, but it was fixed as promised.
Hi All,
I am new to this site and hoping I could get some information. I am looking to start a part time business buying cars from actions to sell. Can any one help with the following informations please:... Read more
James - the idea is that you post a comment at least vaguely relevant to the topic being discussed. There's nothing wrong with a bit of 'thread drift' but your post doesn't make sense.

Hi All,
Got a little problem with my mk5 golf. Recently when using the fob to lock the doors, the passenger door hasn't locked. Couple of weeks later and it wont lock at all, be it with the fob or just using the key. I tried my other fob just in case it was a problem with the battery and still got the same problem.... Yes, it sounds like the latch.
There is no actuator - the days of seperate motor units went past more than 2 decades ago!
When I bought my Seat 2 years ago I got conflicting advice regarding cam belt changes from the brochures and dealers. So I e-mailed Seat Customer Services and received an answer from them that made complete sense and I have the e-mail for future reference....
