Hi,
I have a 2001 E200K Tiptronic<*** id="itxthook0icon" class="itxtrst itxtrstimg itxthookicon" style="left: auto; right: auto; top: auto; bottom: auto; background-color: transparent; position: static; white-space: normal; max-height: none; float: none !important; padding: 0px 0px 0px 4px !important; margin: 0px !important; display: inline !important; border-width: 0px !important; max-width: none !important; width: auto !important; height: auto !important; vertical-align: baseline !important;" src="http://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adTypes/icon1.png" alt="" /> Estate with 110,000 miles on the clock.
Recently it has started to lose power / acceleration.
For example, driving along at 50mph if I depress the accelerator pedal further down nothing happens, the revs start to drop as does the speed. It feels alot like depressing the clutch pedal in a manual car. If I press the pedal further the car then accelerates as it should.
It does not happen all the time but seems to be getting more regular. At all other times the car seems fine.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Cheers, James Read more

This morning while travelling on the A14 I spotted a Mazda 6 driver in the middle lane, following an HGV rather too closely. The Mazda 6 was being tailgated by another HGV. I wouldn't want to have been in the Mazda!!! Read more
Not so long ago I was doing 50mph in one of the average speed zones on the M5 and an HGV was about a foot from the back of my car. Really intimidating. Wife tried to take photo but she's not so good if it isn't a txt message, whatsapp or Facebook.
Hi recent,y bought ford mondeo 2003 2.0 tdci 157000 miles, yrs m.o.t, drives well but funny rattling sound and lots of black smoke and if rev hard or fast glo light flashes and sometime it makes the car lose power completely.. Had oil, air and furl filter changed, but still does same... Is it the turbo?is there any wy I can find out without having take it o garage? Read more
I would suspect an injector problem. Take it to a diesel specialist rather than the dealer, they usually know what they are doing and are cheaper.
Picked up my new Picanto yesterday and, so far, loving it. Noticed something when running through the trip computer screens, though. It has a thermometer and, according to everything I've read from KIA, that should only be available on the '3' spec but mine is the 1.25 ISG '2' spec... Has anyone else noticed this? There's also a rattle coming from the back of the car. I've checked the shelf, seatbelts, back seats, tyre pump compartment... can't find a thing. Anyone any ideas? If I can't work out what the rattle is I'll mention it at my 6-week interim service in, erm, 6 weeks :D Read more
Rattle could be the numberplate vibrating against the tailgate at certain revs (most likely) or rear seat back catches vibrating against their locking bar (wrap some electrical tape around the bar).
I'm having difficulty in changing gear and there is slight juddering. What could it be. The clutch seems ok. Could it be the gear selector? Read more
The mpounts can be inspected visually but as you can engage all gears with the engine off I suspect you have a clutch/DMF problem. Get you head under the bonnet and listen when an assistant starts the car. Does the DMF rattle or tick. Regards Peter

Is it a new box? Will you sell the car on before or when makers warranty expires?

Its part of the printed circuit board not an easy repair quite common MB and BMWs it requires dashboard pod removal and somebody who is a very dab hand with a soldering iron after you have sourrced the parts. If you take it to MB or a MB specialist they will charge you a lot of money for the repair.
after my brakefluid resevoir ws ampty,my clutch got soft, when i step on it,it did not come back to its original position. can it be because the brakefluid must still drain through the pipes or what... Read more
Hopefully the OP will come back, i suspect that either the clutch master or slave cyl is leaking, if its a shared reservior that needs sorting sharpish as it could affect braking, though i suspect the OP has two reservoirs and has not made his original post clear.
Hello all,

Hi, thats interesting. I must admit after your note I did go and check the other doors on my VW. I observed a few Touran's locally when the opportunity presented itself, and I did not see the creasing you describe. I too did google and couldnt find much, even tried larger models throughout the VAG range.
Have been re-contacted by VWCS, they are looking into it again. Have sent them the letter from the previous owner detailing the damage after they part exchanged the vehicle....

There is an EGR valve on the left hand side of the engine mounted on the top of a pipe sod to remove but is a common fault on petrol E200,but I suggest you have it put on a dianostic machine first.
