It is not possible to open the airbag case.Access to the contacts and wiring requires removal of the airbag. If you are not familiar with airbag systems, leave it to an expert.hth

I've owned it for five years but have never been able to correct this problem. I bought it at 50000 miles and it has now done 126000 I've had numerous tracking jobs done and tyre changes. During the time I've had it, replaced most of the suspension parts, - lower arms, drop links, top mounts, anti roll bar bushes. - but the problem persists.
Even after driving away from garage it drifts to the left. It's not road camber. Read more
I popped into a Ford dealer and spoke to a long time Ford mechanic who use to work on Cortinas etc. He told me two things that cars are designed to drift to the left as a safety thing in case the driver falls asleep. And the other is that with diesels you are supposed to use expensive quality tyres on the front which use thicker material such as Michelen and the wearing down one side is far less likely as the tyres can take the extra weight..
Now I'm wondering if I have a problem at all....

You don't say if its petrol or diesel or engine size which would help anyone with detailed knowledge of the type. Genericly advice is the same.
Take it to a trusted indy or a Cit/Pug specialist and asking them to have a good look at it including the fault codes. If servicing has been neglected then that can be remedied at same time
Anybody know much about this model? Looks intriguing from what I've seen online, but Renault went and quit selling cars here, so I've never seen a Vel Satis up close. Does any poster here have one? Read more
Read the advice at the top of the column or are you being in a more pedantic mood..
How can a police force legally delegate part of their function to a private company and vest the employees of that company with powers to stop vehicles and demand driver details?

I had a similar problem, many years ago, with a traffic warden. She insisted I give my name and address. I refused, unless she could provide proof of her identity ( I didn't help when I suggested she could be any weirdo dressed up).
I subsequently found she was correct and at the time they weren't required to carry ID - they are now....
I have a '06 plate Vauxhall Astra Club 1.7l diesel. Recently I've noticed that occasionally whilst playing a CD it sometimes turns itself over to radio for no apparent reason and I end up being fed traffic reports from radio 1 or something along those lines.
I think RDS or whatever it is turned on, could this be the answer to my problems if so, how do I turn this off?... Read more
I couldn't actually find the instruction for the CD player at the time (have since) and google was no help to me.
A friend of mine clocked onto what it was as it happened again with him in the car....

hi. have you ran it out of diesel? these tdci's are a b**** to bleed back up if you have. other then that it will need plugging in as its probably going to be a fuel pump or injector fault which is very common with these cars.
Usually only happens when the car is getting rather old that.
I'd have thought that a sticking solenoid not shoving the drive into full engagement before spinning it up is more likely. I'd swap the starter (or solenoid if available seperately) on principle, taking the opportunity for a squint at the ring gear while it's out just in case.
