What could be wrong, that the airbag light is flashing?

Or just go to Peugeot official dealer to take away this error? Read more

hi i have a w reg 306 hdi it had the air bag light flashing since i bought it in 2009 but it was only a problem this year as it failed its mot because of it, I cut off the all the plugs under both seats and soldered the wires together, But it did not stop it flashing, So i took out all of the center console and under where the ash tray was there was two more plugs and like an ecu box with a connector on it so i unplgged all of them put them back together and that sorted it, Happy days.

Hi,

Took my x5 into have the glowplugs repleaced today. Got a call 2 hours later saying one had snapped and had gone in engine. Needs cylinder head off etc. etc. Will cost £600 + vat to fix. I think it's their fault and should put it right. They said it's one of those things, couldn;t be predicted as the other 5 came out ok. Obviously want the car repaired and back to normal. But should I have to pay ? If I do - can I claim back though small claims court ? Help please Read more

No it's usually the threaded outer part of the glow plug that will come out, but as it unscrews it shears the very thin tip off which remains stuck in the cylinder head.

The best chance of getting glow plugs out of an aluminium head without breaking them is to start to unscrew them with the engine hot and idling, if they are easily accessible, the heat and combustion pressure are then helping to loosen them without breaking the tip off....

My 2006 Touareg is suffering unexplained battery drain after being left a couple of days without use. The battery is completely dead with even the clock stopped and the key unable to be removed from the ignition. The battery was replaced when tis was first a problem some 18 months ago but the problem persisted. VW dealer diagnostics say they cannot find a fault despite having been in to them four times. My roadside assistance company is now saying they will not come out to start - [too many call outs for the same problem]. Help! Read more

"key unable to be removed from ignition".So does that mean you are leaving the key in ignition when car is not being used? This will cause the battery to run flat.hth

Many thanks Mike (and sorry for the delay in replying!).
I will follow your lesson and just stick with what the manufacturer says...
Not sure if you had the F1 Asymmetrics (1) or the F1 Asymmetric 2's. I have heard that the 1's did wear out quickly but that GY had improved the wear rate with the 2's - well, I hope they have!
I bought the 2's knowing that wear might be an issue, but I was after the grip, which, to me, is more important than wringing every last mile out of a tyre.
My 2's have only been on for about 2000 miles, so I'll wait until I've done at least 5k and I will report back with wear rate.
Thanks again for your reply!

Can anyone help with this. The engine on my mondeo cuts out when driving intermittently. First happened about 18 months ago going up a hill, wouldn't restart so I called for help, Tried to start 10 minutes later while waiting and away it went. No problems for the next 12 months so I put it down to a glitch in the fuel. However, similar things have happened 4 times in the last 3 months, twice it has restarted immediately on the key but on the other occasions I've had to wait be for up to an hour. When it does start it runs perfectly. I've had it serviced and a fault code check has shown nothing. Any ideas anyone? Read more

Hi guys,
I have a 1998 VW Golf Mark 4 and sometimes when the car is stationary it seems to vibrate/ shake. This doesn't matter if I'm in neutral or I have my clutch pedal pressed down and in gear. When I take off in 1st gear it judders like when you don't do clutch control properly. I am not sure if all this is called Rough Idling? This problem arose 2/3 weeks ago but is becoming more regular now. It won't happen on short journeys if I'm only driving once a day. It seems to happen after 25/30 minutes. If I'm in stop start traffic it's really annoying and it seems like it could cause further damage to the car. A local garage tried running a electronic diagnostics tool but said he couldn't find the variant of my car on the tool. It didn't help that at the time the car was running properly so he said he wasn't sure what's wrong. Could it be the fuel injectors being faulty? I always get fuel from Shell and thought they had good diesel. Please can someone give me some advice?

Thank you. Read more

I arranged the 1st service of my Yaris, 2 weeks ago, using Toyota's online booking form. The website and confirmation email informed me that the FIXED PRICE for the service would be £119.

When I got to the dealership on the day arranged, they had no record of my booking, but could accomodate me.... Read more

There'ssome confusion here between the 10,000-mile and 20,000-mile services: the £119 and £224 sound about right for the respectiv services. You've been charged for the major service (20,000, 40,000 etc) when you were expecting the minor (10,000, 30,000 etc).

Your service record should tell you which one should have been carried out.
