Hi all I hope you can help, I have a 54 plate 2.0DTI Vectra C. 90k Miles.
I have had an issue with the car starting when the weather is warm... it will basically take ages to turn over and spark into life.
In the mornings it will start up on the first or second turn of the engine,
if its cold and the glow plugs come on, even for a fraction of a second, it will start ok.... Read more

Hi I’m from New Zealand and have a 1998 Peugeot 306 1.8 XT with an automatic transmission.
My car has developed a Jekyll/Hyde personality over the last few months.
Some days it idles happily around 1000 rpm when started or idling.
Other days it will stall as soon as it is started, only firing when you put your foot on the gas.
On those days it doesn’t correct itself once it’s warmed up. With it struggling to hold 500rpm by itself you have to drive the automatic with both feet so it won’t stall at traffic lights.
What could be causing the car to stall some days but not the other?
What parts/sensors should I be checking and where are they located?
The car was recently serviced but I seriously doubt the quality of the workmanship but what I can confirm is that the battery is strong.

hi has anyone found a good solution for 340 code. ive changed camshaft sensor for a used 1, changed air intake valve air mass sensor spark plugs and oil and still the problem persists. when you start the car from cold it runs ok until idle settles down and then the engine revs dip but does not stall even though it sounds like it might conk out. When the revs dip the spanner light comes on. turn car off and start and light is off until the engine dips when driving the car becomes jerky. Im going to try the cam sensor again but im clueless now. i have 5v at the cam sensor end, the earths are good. any ideas Read more
Minor issue in that the offside rear wrap around bumper section clips have come adrift, presumably after a minor bump in the past. It tends to come adrift and flap a bit at speed so we need to do something about it. As it contains the reversing assist radars, it might be pricey.
Can anyone recoomend whether I need to use a main dealer? In Wimbledon, can anyone recommend an honest advisor in the body-work world? Any help gratefully received! Read more
So I sold a car yesterday (28th May), I'm a private seller, the buyer test drove it thoroughly, bought it, took it away, signed the reciept which states sold as seen, and on the way home (around a 200 mile trip) they text me that the air con stopped working within an hour of them taking it away. They've had a company look at it, and it could be the condensor, which is an expensive job.
They're asking me for compensation to get it fixed. where legally do I stand? They're stating they're taking legal advice, and that they can't be 100% sure that the air con ever was working, even though yesterday it was one of the hottest days of the year. Read more

PistonHead opinions range from selling 5 cars a year thru to 12 and others say if you you buy 1 car with the intention of selling it on for a profit, particularly if you do not do a change of ownership on the V5, then youwould be a trader on the basis of one transaction

I am looking for a small car to fit in back of American RV,heigth/width no problem, BUT have max length of 10'3"(3120mm). Smart car fits, but would like 4 seats(2+2). Not fussed on make or model, I suppose pertrol, as have facility to top up from RV. possibly new, second hand maybe can even be left hand drive.
