A4 2.0 TDI 170 2007 - Audi accelerating problem - mm707

Hi,

The car runs fine when cruising along but when I accelerate there is a slight pause and stutter before it actualy accelerates. it also does it on cruise control when you lift the stalk. It's had a new egr about 5k ago as well as 4 injectors and loom on recall about a year ago.

I've started by putting in a new fuel filter but it's made no difference.

Any ideas where to look for a diy attempt at resolving this ?

Thanks

Two possibilities are :- Turbo vane actuator or vanes sticking or EGR problems again which could also be vacuum related. I would start by checking the free operation of the turbo actuator.

You need to have a source of vacuum to operate the vane actuator to ensure it moves freely. I suggest you find an independant specialist to first collect some live data whilst you are driving as this may not be a turbo issue but a MAF problem. The indi with have all the gear to check the turbo. Regards Peter

Find the diaphragm that opereates the turbo vanes, which should be apparent near to the turbo, remove the small vacuum hose and replace with a pice of hose you can suck on. When you such you should see the actuiator move and then return to its resting position if everything is working okay.
