Just in case,

Have you got slightly different diamater tyres on the front wheels - i.e. different makes or ages of tyre on each side. Can cause havoc with sensor readings.

Hello can any one cast any light on this issue. I have a 320d on an 07 plate with 93k on clock and it has been well maintained by by myself and the previous owner. Recently the engine is vibrating more than usual when the car is idleing and in neutral at standstill. This only happens when the car has been running and the engine is warm. The rev metre flickers ever so slightly with each vibration. I have had the car hooked up to diagnostic machine and nothing appears wrong with it. Clutch appears fine as does the air filter. It still has 10k left before the next service and I always use BP ultimate diesel. Any advice welcome. Read more

If it's a resonance issue (which it sounds like) - it's likely it could be DMF related

Can you not take it to a trusted mechanic who can tell you if it's the DMF or not?

There was a recall for a faulty airbag clockspring on these that causes all the faults you have stated. The car is safe to drive, but be advised that the drivers airbag will not deploy in the event of an accident and obviously the horn is inoperative.Check with main dealer if the recall has been done on your car.hth

The passenger window works fine but the drivers side switch which was getting stuck has now stopped workinging properly. I understand that a new Audi switch set is around £95! On the assumption that I can get a cheaper part is it easy to replace?

My 2007 A6 has a squeaky steering column. It's been getting progressivley worse. It sounds as though it's a dry bush (?) and a specialist has said that it is unusual for tyhis year of Audi but was common on older audis. They said that it could mean a new column!! Is it possible to get lubricant into bush.....? Read more

Hi kebab,
You can only make a claim against the person who sold you the car ,if you can prove that he delibratlely mislead you .

The law that applies is not consumer protection .It is the 1967 misdescriptions act ,

If you check when the car was registered to him ,and then check if the car was clocked after he bought it .You can sue in the small claims court for your money back .
Check the year when the car was clocked ,from the VOSA report ,then check the date when the car was registered to him on the V5 reg doc . If it shows that the car was clocked after it was registered to him ,you should get your money back .

If the car was clocked before he became the registered keeper you have very little chance of getting your money back .As you now know, you must always do a VOSA report and and HPI report before you buy any car .

If you need any more help do get back in touch with the forum ,please let us know the outcome .

I took out my warranty with Warrantywise in the 2nd week of January 12 after extensive research of warranty companies.

After asking many questions via email to WW apart what they cover, what would happen if the part became faulty etc and was given many assurances. Unfortunately within 3 weeks of my cover during the weather change in Britain becoming much colder, one morning while commuting to work a noticed a shudder when the gears changed in my A4 Multitronic gearbox. I immediately took it to the garage where they advised it was a common fault with the ECU (a part which is covered in my cover) which required replacing and kept my car at the garage while contacting WW.... A dreadfull story ,but all to typical of the warranty business ,

I would write to them using a recorded delivery letter .Tell them that if you do not receive a posative reply in 7 days ,you will have the car repaired at your own expense and then pursue them for the cost of the repair plus expenses through the small claims court .

It's clear that you paid for a warranty they are not fulfilling ,they are in breach of contract .

Judges are sympathetic to consumers generally .The shabby way you have been treated will be helpfull to your case .From experience ,the warranty company will pay up before you get into court ,but not until you have issued the claim against them .

Do get back in touch with the forum ,if you need more help or information .

My 2001 van is clonking badly at the back. Going over a speed bump and even letting out the clutch anything other than very gently gives a nasty sounding clunk. I replaced the shackle bushes on the leaf springs but according to LDV the bushes at the front end of the springs are not available on their own and come in a new leaf spring! Nissan are useless and not interested in helping me but I cannot believe I have to throw away a pair of leaf springs for the sake of two rubber bushes. My old Hyundai van vas the same but only the rear bushes ever wore out which are easy to replace. Does anyone else have experience of these vans going very 'clonky' at the back. I have had the van up on a ramp and nothing is obviously wrong apart from these worn front bushes on the leaf springs
