Audi A6 Avant - Squeaky Steering Column - Cmonyawns

My 2007 A6 has a squeaky steering column. It's been getting progressivley worse. It sounds as though it's a dry bush (?) and a specialist has said that it is unusual for tyhis year of Audi but was common on older audis. They said that it could mean a new column!! Is it possible to get lubricant into bush.....?
