Hello all i am new to the forums, always browsing so i though't id finally join up!
Anyway i am having a problem with my Nissan 100nx. In November 2010 my differential in my gearbox kinda exploded leaving a massive hole in the gearbox and rendering the car useless. I got the car trailered to a local garage and they told me it would need a new gearbox and i could either supply a second hand gearbox or let them find a refurbished gearbox. As most of the 100nxs this age have a good 90k+ miles on them and with a second hand gearbox it could just blow again a few months or years later so i asked for a recondictioned gearbox and new drive shafts as they needed replacing due to they somehow fractored when the diff exploded (Note the car is FWD).... Our V reg 1999 Astra automatic has been fantastically reliable. It has now done approx 79,000 miles. From Oct 2011 we switched to using "super" unleaded only. Since then on 4 occasions the car stalled when approaching a junction. Before Christmas we switched back to using ordinary unleaded but the vehicle stalled again at the weekend. Is it possible that the switch to super unleaded has been the cause or should we looking at other cause? Read more
My MOT station advised me to have the brake and fuel pipes on my 11 year old 5-series BMW cleaned of corrosion and protected. My local garager suggests cleaning off to bare metal and applying grease, but I am concerned that the gease will wash off leaving the pipes unprotected. Is there a product better for the job? Could someone tell me how much it would cost to replace the rear wishbones, when I had the car mot'd I was told that the brushes were wearing out.
Everywhere I have tried is unwilling to replace the brushes and says the whole part has to be replaced. I had the front ones done where the car was mot'd and that cost me nearly £300.00 Read more
OMG I didn't think it would be that much

Hi I am looking for help on this matter. I know that to remove the RD4 you undo the two torex screws but what I would like to know is when the radio is pulled out how tight are the connecting leads in other words is there a bit of play and how much room is behind the radio. I want to fit a Connects2 CTAPGUSB001 USB Adapter which is designed for my model of car but the box which is 5 3/4 inches long and 2 3/4 inches wide would need a bit of room. Any help and or advice would be most welcome on the best way to fit this unit. Thanks

Maybe Ford have listened to my criticism of the Mondeo on this forum! I said that they made it too big for private buyers, too expensive for fleet buyers and accidentally positioned it in the firing line of the 5-series where it cant compete. Maybe they're now going to try and do exactly that.
What do you guys think of this new model?

How did we reach this point?
Legislation.

Clean the throttle body - they do gradually get gunged up (technical term that) with oil fumes from the crankcase breather and it causes the throttle to stick.
In severe cases the stepper motor in the throttle body can fail but try cleaning first
